Here's a thought about strength and cost (mg/$):
I buy high and mix low (probably why I'm not making money in the stock market).
If you mix down then you probably add up the cost of all ingredients and divide by the volume produced to come up with a cost per ml. Some of my 18mg/ml mix only costs me 36 cents per ml. Helps when shopping to watch for juice less than or more than say a dollar a milliliter, right? 60 cents a ml sounds OK, right? 36 cents? even better, is it?
Example:
If you are mixing your own which is better? 30ml bottle of 36mg/ml tasteless for $15 shipped, or 2 20ml bottles of 24mg/ml shipped for $20. Both come out to 50 cents per milliliter. The 30ml of 36 gives you 1080mg total of nicotine to mix with and the 2X20ml of the 24 gives you 960mg of nicotine to play with. See where this is going? You get 72mg of nicotine per dollar (72mg/$) with the 36mg order, but only 48mg of nicotine per dollar (48mg/$) with the 24mg order. Now, which is the better bargain for mixing?
Ok, I re-read this and now I'm confused.

Juice Cost:
With the standard super duper high juice changing from 36mg/ml (I know there is some even higher) to 24mg/ml in anticipation of FDA regulation. Comparing prices is getting a little more difficult. Bottle sizes of 3ml, 10ml,15ml, 20ml, and 30ml bottles, and strengths of 6mg/ml, 12mg/ml, 18mg/ml, and 24mg/ml juice and Free shipping or $6 shipping or $10 shipping and Free shipping if over $100, and 5% discount codes.
HOW do you shop for the best deal?
Milligram of Nicotine per dollar spent, that's how. (oh no, another Rocket Example).
Example Recent post was $9.50 for 30ml of 24mg/ml. Checking the website showed 9 bottles @ $9.50 + $15 shipping (and a 5% discount) got you 270ml of 24mg/ml juice at a true nicotine cost of 67mg/$. Actually pretty darn good.

Another selling ****48mg/ml juice**** at $25 for 30ml + $10 shipping. Lets order 3 bottles of this ($85) at a nicotine cost of 51mg/$. Really not as bad as it sounds.

Another (almost if not already gone) $6.50 for 15ml of 36mg/ml + $10 shipping. Go for 10 bottles ($75) and you get a whopping 72mg for each $ spent. Cool !

Some more? 4 bottles, 20ml of 24mg/ml (I think) Get 4 of these (16 bottles) + $10 shipping and you get 67mg/$.

Worst I found? 4 $18 dollar, 30ml bottles of 24mg/ml + $10 shipping came out to 35mg/$. Pretty costly huh?

mg per $ ,
keep track of your real cost no matter what strength, size, shipping.
(any suppliers want to post their TRUE, as delivered cost per milligram?)

Your first example comes to $96.23, then $85, $75. I don't get the impression that someone on a limited budget would be able to benefit from your mg/$ theory. Have you worked up numbers like this on small, affordable purchases?

godling,
For a small order, if they charge shipping, shipping will eat your lunch.
Recent supplier posted Free shipping 30ml of 24mg/ml for $17.99.
That's 40mg/$. If he was to charge $6 to ship it it would be 30mg/$ (ouch)
The real point here is the change from 36mg juice to 24mg juice without a price drop is sticking it to us also.
To reduce the impact of shipping charges, co-op your order with a couple of friends, or co-workers.

If someone were to start pricing their eJuice by the nicotine content, I think the prices would go higher. The manufacturers charge the same price for all the strengths, and for a supplier to drop the price on 18mg strength (for example), they would be cutting into their own profits.

Would you be willing to pay more for 24mg than you currently pay for 18mg?

I know,
The people that don't mix down, just buy the strength they want to vape, they are the ones that are paying for it now. For us, buy high, mix low saves us a few bucks.
I would hate to think about buying 6mg/ml (if I ever get down to that level) for the same price as whatever is the highest at the time. I guess just stock up as much as you can for now.

Ya know Godling, I've often wondered the same thing. I believe most of us are here for the nic kick mostly. After over 40 years of smoking analogs who knows, I might even be addicted to the stuff. I normally get the 36mg and cut it to 18mg with PG but then the flavor and throat hit seems to go away. Once I got 18mg red bull and used it as is and it was the best I've had but I didn't mess with it in anyway so the full flavor was there. I do get lots of great tips in these forums though and wish I had something to contribute.

OK, I give in,
after thinking this through, and the points you two have made, I agree. Keep the pricing like it is. Mix down if you want. But the sellers will price the best way for them which might just be best for us. I can't figure out which juice I like best anyway. As soon as I think I've found something really good, I get anothe, then another. Just can't decide.
I have found that if I'm really busy and have to hit the juice hard, a higher NIC is necessary. Just sitting as the desk all day, then a lower level is fine.
Rocket

Edit: Just don't tell the suppliers they we are evaluating their jucie by both ml and mg. depending on our use. We have the money, make them work for it.
(almost sounds like contest time doesn't it )

Does anyone remember the Johnson Creek Sample pack?
There were 10 different flavors, 3.7ml glass dropper bottles (which I still use).
These are really handy to carry around, I don't do an e-cig purse with bottles, batteries, and stuff. Well usually don't do an e-cig purse. This kit started out at $19.99, and $6 shipping. I'd buy them 3 or 4 at a time. That made it 58 to 60 cents per ml, for 24mg/ml juice and 30 to 40 little glass bottles when it was all gone (still have 2 complete kits in the fridge). The current JC kit has extra stuff like a cool little funnel, but costs much more than the original sampler.
Now I've seen sample kits on other sites, some with 3.7ml, 4ml, 10ml bottles, 5 different flavors, 10 flavors, "you pick the flavor" or "they pick the flavor". Some sounded good, some didn't, so I guess the "You Pick" would be the way to go. 10ml, 10 flavor might be too big an order for some, so I guess the smaller kit, 3.7ml 10 flavor would interest more people. Now the point of this post:
How about a "CONTEST". Think about it, post back your thoughts, lets give the suppliers time to get ready. If it sounds like a good idea. I'll start a 48 hour Supplier Challenge for a 10 Flavor Sampler. How about Starting it before the end of July? The 501 contest saved me a few bucks, this might also.
Way too much time on my hands,

The Rocket

Like the idea of a contest - we should be seeing sales for Independence Day as well. Anyone know if Johnson Creek will have a sale?

Also wanted to pass some info along for all you mix-downers... VapeMeister (vapeme.com) has 120ml of 48mg/ml for 79.95 shipped. Thats 72mg/dollar. I got some!

Yep -

Score! I just took a look; all gone. It was a good deal. Hopefully more will come.

I previously got 2x30ml there for $56 shipped. Just got 240ml of PG.

Now to look into tobacco flavor, how to...
