I remember a wise fellow saying 2 ohm carts must be putting too much of a load on the eGo and causing premature failures. I ordered some 2 ohm carts from MadVapes and saw this...

Not recommended for 5 volt use or for eGo, 510, 808 or other mosfet driven batteries.

Well, this really SUCKS, because on the eGo, the 2 ohm cartomizers ROCK! As much vape as from a ciggie. Whenever we play a gig I take my eGo and a couple of 2 ohms to get through the night.

I remember Rocky's dissertation about a failed eGo and how it damaged the ckt board the MOSFET was on. Anyone else had failures from using 2 ohm carts on an eGo (so far, none here, but I only use my eGos occasionally...)

I use 2.7 on egos all the time. 3.0 jus doesnt get it for me. I cant imagine how harsh a 2.0 would be with all the current increase. They might have bigger gauge wire to keep from burning up but that amp draw has to be pretty big. You might look at a box mod for that steam, maybe even NiZn batts

MadVapes says 2.7s are OK. I think...I looked this AM. 2.8-3.2 are OK.
The low resistance must not be enough for the MOSFET to operate properly.

I have the Strontium (AKA Plumber's Dream) with an 18650, and when I was at MadVapes and another place I saw a 3xAA box mod that would be good for playing with different voltages; it's just I don't want to look like I'm suckin' on a battery box

I use LR Boge cartos and have no idea what the ohms are. I've not blown anything up yet.

How much are you vaping? Are you a hypervaper like me? When I get in the car, I fire up the Atty Smasher until I reach my destination, sometimes 45 minutes at a stretch! Rocket posted some pics of a failed eGo and mentioned something about the MOSFET board.

Here it is:

Inside a Hello-16

But that was a Hello-16 that went poof.

Hey, I only kill atties. It take Bikes to ruin a Hello 16...

Actually, wifey hadn't been told about the necessity of stopping vaping when the "CHARGE ME " light sequence began. Her idiot husband didn't tell her( and didn't know himself) she went thru 2 Hellos and 2 VGOs in a month. I've had 2 of the 1300mAh vaulting poles fail. No egos or rivas so far.

Steam: I don't hyper vape. I only vape about ten vapes and then go about my business for awhile. Similar to taking a smoke break.

Bikes: My ego battery completely quits when the light blinks. It's impossible for me to keep vaping after that point.

Geeze, who the hell is she married to? You better help that poor woman out and point her to a good lawyer.

Probably won't have any trouble. I have had mine for a while, I usually only use it at gigs, and we've only had 4 since I got it, but we take a 15-20 minute break and I hit the thing for almost the full time, and also between songs. I use it around the house, too, but I have the Atty Smashers in the car and connected to my computer, so if I'm driving, working at home or being a wise here I'm powered by other than batteries.

I've used extreme stuff like Cisco R306 atties (1.5ohm) on my eGo. Had no problems. The eGo is not my main device (mainly use Super Six or Screwdriver) though, but I DID use the Cisco 306 on the eGo for a solid week before Christmas (I use the eGo when I fly somewhere) and it survived (I was using a big eGo battery mind)

Thats interesting. at least you know the ego mosfet can handle 1.5 ohms then. I wonder how long the battery lasts though

Hey, prof, long time no see. How's all where you're at?

I got an email back from MadVapes, he said, "No problem" for the 2 ohm cartos.

Why would 2Ω cause a problem when eGos ship with 2.1Ω atties.

And as far as the batteries, the eGo use a different chemistry than normal Li-Ions.

And remember almost everything MadVapes sells are knock-offs. That his products have problems doesn't mean Joye's will.

I gotta laugh at his new '510' passthroughs. He tells you not to use real 510's, only knock-offs.

I got my eGo from MidWest before they closed, and it SAID it was an eGo. I have been using Boge 2 ohms on it since I got it. I also got some 1300maH, can't remember where, think they're eGos (said they were) and have been using the Boges on them as well.

The only problem everything's an 'eGo' now. It's a shame. Folks will have to start specifying Joye (or Janty) eGo when asking questions of having problems.

Here's SLB's (the DSE folks who never met anything they won't copy) new offering.

The packaging, the name and the Janty logo all stolen.

Must be great to never have to spend any $ on research and development.

There the same company that made those Vgos that had problems with early failures too

Been running 2.0 Boge on Riva and Ego for several months. No problems and they are the only ones I'll use with the cone attached for a nice warm vape and tighter draw. Had no problems so far but read where the MOSFET will overload with this combo and ruin the switch. Great combo and I do it at my own risk for possibly losing a battery.

Me too, but I use my eGos sparingly. Great vape with a 2 ohm, though.

Do you find some juices taste better with the 2.0 on the ego? I have a couple that seem to shine with this set up.

Not been on here long and still learning the ropes. You seem to be more of an atty guy? I've not used them since the 510 carto's came out, but of course the Tanks are the atty set up and I do have one juice that taste better in the single XL I have. Keeping with the thread for 2.0 Boge....you have a favorite juice for the ego set up your talking about?

To me, all juices taste like cr@p on cartos. I think it is a bit better on the eGo, but I like the CE2s for letting the flavor through better. Nothing beats a 510 atomizer, IMHO, but if you read many of the threads I have started, you'll discover they don't likeme very much...

I'm gathering he's a little hard on atomizers? LOL

He's right though, juice taste did drop off after I switched from the basic 510 3 pc and moved on to the convenience of cartos. The vanilla I use is not for 2.0 Boge at all. Forget it.
