I created this video to show you how to refill any cartomizer with ease. Clean and efficent, the syringe is the best way to refill any disposable atomizer with your favorite juice. YouTube - lecigstore's Channel |

My blood sugar level is all over the place! If I have sugar in the morning at breakfast, I had better have some more by 10 o'clock, or I get the shakes, start getting warm and sweating, weak in the knees, etc. I eliminate this by not having any sugar until at least Noon, and then my system can deal with it.
When I started vaping...ooops. I take sugar packets with me everywhere now, because I know 10:15-11:00AM I'm going to get the DTs!
We now return to our regularly scheduled program...my Mom was in the hospital for a week, and they were shooting her up with all kinds of interesting things (morphine!) and I had to keep myself from asking the nurse, "Can I have one of those when you're done? Why? Because I want to fill my carts!"
Now, is it something I'm getting from the vapor (sugar from the VG based juice I use), or is it something I'm NOT getting from tobacco???

Hit up your diabetic friends! | The diabetic needles seem to be kinda small in diameter for the juice because the juice is thicker than insulin. I showed my e-cig to the pharmacist at Wallgreens and he thought it was cool. He even got a website so he could check them out to help out customers that were trying to quit smoking. Anyway he just give me some syringes. The biggest he had were .8mm x 25mm (needle size). The syringe itself is 3ml. A friend give me a diabetic syringe and needle and it was so small it took forever to suck the liquid up. The guy at Walgreens even give me a couple graduated droppers that work great for quick and dirty batches of juice. They probably wouldn't work for someone with OCD though.

It's obvious you don't live in Mass. Syringes are a Controlled item...
Must not be a lot of drugs where you live. You don't even want to get caught with a syringe w/o a prescription around here!

A while back I had to sign my life away to get some sudifed at the same Walgreens. I don't see what good it's done because they are still busting meth labs. Kinda strange I haven't needed sudifed or anything like that since I started vaping. Heck, I haven't even been sick at all with the seasonal flu or anything.

Needles and stuff:
Might not want to carry needles and syringes around in the car with you but you can make your own. Sort of.
Ink cartridge syringes and needles will work if you can't get anything else.
These are 10ml (kinda tuff measuring .3 to .7 ml) with a giant needle with a squared off blunt tip. A sharpening stone can be used to slant the tip so it goes into a fluval without causing too much pain (don't want PETA at your door). Office Depot, Staples, CVS, ink refill kits. I got a bunch on Ebay.
Another place is a feed store, Just tell the guy you are giving your fluvie vitamins.
A lot of our sellers also sell needles and stuff.
The 28 gauge insulin needle is not what you want.

I bought all my DIY stuff from www.juicyliquid.com and was very pleased with their products and service; check 'em out for those things. Their juice is also very good and was the first I used. They were recommended on this forum back in June so I used them and it got me started with the DIY immediately.
I had to check sites to see where I got the syringe etc., and in that process, came across the place I bought my first kit, TheSmokeSafe.com - The #1 Source For E-Cigs, Parts, Accessories and Supplies!, and noticed they have 10ml juice in various strengths up to 36 mg, variety of flavors, for $4.50, so those on a budget who want some different flavors might want to check them out.

I still have to ensure that I'm consuming my necessary dextrose-rich foods, but I have noticed that my symptoms from going a little time with out food (or sugar in specific) are a bit less common and a bit less severe in the onset. Not sure if there really is much sugar being absorbed, but I would assume there is some.

808D-1 refill:
First go back to post number one and watch LeCig's video.
I have refilled a cartomizer about 5 times and one finally died.
Another has made it 5 times and is still going. They seem to last 3, 4 maybe 5 times as long as a 901 or 510 cartridge per filling and the vapor is strong till it runs out (or dies).
I'll probably not switch totally over to the 808D-1 but for those times I don't want to break out the bottle and refill they would be nice.
One thing I noticed, and I don't think anyone has mentioned this, is the vapor heats up the end of the tip and it feels very warm, almost uncomfortable, against the lips. It might be because the air flow is more direct thru the cart (straight up the center). I tend to have to 'choke up on the tip' (politically acceptable terminology) to eliminate the burning feeling.
Attached is a photo of a tip modification.
Starting from the back, hypo refilling a cartomizer (see LeCig's video),
Cartomizers with plastic covers, note the plastic pin in connector end which I put back in when refilling to reduce the mess,
and a 901 whistle tip (2 piece) taken apart and put in the end of the cartomizer.
The inside of the whistle tip and the outer white plastic cartomizer cover are not used. ONLY works with the 2-piece whistle tip.
Is now COOL.
The Rocket
EDIT: I NOW USE A DROPPER TO GENTLY REFILL THE D-1. DO NOT DISTURB THE HEATER. BE GENTLE.

Your absolutely right about them getting warm rocket, I toss them after 2-3 times refilling them. You have to be careful not to knock the center piece near the walls of the cart. Sometimes you can use the needle tip to pull it back to the center and avoid the heat. |

These things have a really interesting looking atomizer. Has anyone done a 'Life test" on one of these yet? I have on and still using it (sparingly) for about a week, but we know I'm the one to send an atty for a "Death test"...
I'm actually hoping it quits so I'll be able to open it up and have a look at the atty. It looks like it would be simple to duplicate, but I'm enjoying it too much to sacrifice it! It looks like a piece of resistor wire in a ceramic insulator...

Sent you 6 used ones:
3 D1s
3 D2s
1 new D2 Blank for your PT for xmas lol
I understand you can run them under hot water and rinse them out. I think you rinse and repeat like 5 times and you can restore them. You just let them dry out ... if you want to experiment with that.
The rest of them use a precision plasma cutter with a blunt tip so we can get a cross section of disection LMAO |

I'd definately fill at home, you don't want people at work to be seeing you do that LOL.
Also if a cop pulls you over, just tell 'em "I say nope to dope and yes to vape" |

Cut the 808D-1 cart that failed, all the others are OK so far.
The heater is a light gauge wire wound in a vertical coil. There is also an insulated sleeve of fiberglass (?) for the ground return. Mine had melted some of the filler into a small hard glob and I could not separate it from the coil. Dollarstore Macro Adapter used to make these photos.
Nice connector, into the tool box it goes.

No it was open before I tore it apart. and sort of all stuck in the melted filler. The wire you see is lead wire. The resistance wire was a fraction of that diameter (a small fraction). You would have to take one apart before the filler fused together.
The resistance wire was still in the center and had not been pushed to the side. Just one side of the filler fused. Notice that the center tube extends about half way up the cart.
I hate to admit it but the cartomizer does prety good. I will have to wait and see what typical life is. My regular attys last a pretty long time so expense may be an issue with the 808. One might even make an entire gig for you without stopping to refill.

lol rocket ... don't fight the cart!
I converted another dripper to carts today. He said "I was relived not to have to drip for five hours"
I'm wondering when all the three piece units will be converted to 2s ...
