| I had to go to a 7-11 in NH today to set up a wifi sniffer, and when I pulled into the parking lot there was a sign that said "NJOY Electronic Cigarettes On Sale" with a list price of $19.99. When IU finished what I was doing I looked at the packaging of one; it looks like it's a disposable unit with one battery, two atomizers and 4 or 5 cartridges. They had them in different colored boxes that looked like ciggy packs, so I am assuming the different colors are for different flavors/strengths. $19 for a disposable is a little high, but if you were out somewhere and your atty went belly up (I wonder who this might happen to...) at least you'd know you'd be able to pick one up somewhere quick.
I was at a 7-11 in Mass the other day and didn't see them; it might be the manager of the store in NH is buying them from someone and reselling them, but it could be the Massholes in the government here won't allow them. No surprise there...
So, they may not be in all 7-11's, but they are in Keene NH. There was a clipboard in the wall counting the sales of them; they sold 8 starter kits over the weekend with a large hand written note that said "ORDER MORE". Could also be a test for e cigs in certain markets, but 7-11 managers are allowed to sell their own selection of products. Keep an eye out. Maybe if they sell enough e cigs will be given some legitimacy!

"Massholes" - LMAO

Personally I'm on the fence about that. Some "Masshole" (or insert any other state-hole here) will see them and think they are too available for kids, not to mention they are probably less then stellar quality turning off some people who try them.
On the other hand slurpie flavored juices could work out.

| what's classic with NJOY is we have some truck stops here locally that say they are not selling well and they are looking into carrying LeCigs.
With all the interest I think we can get our brand into these stores by the end of 2011. |

| They keep them behind the counter, in the same case as the tobacco products. You have to ask, and I'm sure they aren't selling them to anyone under 18.

| I'm prolly gonna have to go back in a week or two to remove the sniffer. I'll have a closer look then.

If they come with chargers, are the batteries different?

What cracks me up is the 6 month, 1 year and lifetime guarantees some of these companies have on bats. Pretty much if you get 4 months out of one you're lucky imo. The run times on the bats drop off significantly so I don't know why one would want to keep using it.
This is how we came to price our batteries, they are about the same price as the "shipping & handling" charge for the free replacements LOL
I prefer to be honest with my customers. |

Most of the time I do warranty repairs for Dell, but I get the occasional 'installation' (anything from one server or one tape drive up to a complete Server Farm). One of our clients is 7-11 and we have to do whatever. They're having trouble at this one store with the handhelds not being able to receive a signal in the nether regions of the store so we put up wireless packet sniffers to try to figure out what's going on.
Probably the kids sitting in the parking lot War Driving...

Why would war driving cause the handhelds not to work? It's not like interference is it?

SHared bandwidth. There's only so much bandwidth and if too many devices are on the same network BW drops off. 7-11 is very tight with their security but secure networks have been broken before.

Are they after credit/debit card info?

It's a game. You drive around and try to find a wifi hot spot. If it's open you just steal bandwidth. If it's secure a lot move on, but to some the game is to crack the security.
I wonder if they could clue me to the wholesale price of one of those NJoys...?

| the Njoy NPRO e-cig is just a branded RN4081 manufactured by SLB in China. In the volume they have bought them in order to have them re-branded with their packaging, they are most likely getting them for less than $10.00 per kit... Of course, that is with ONE battery. Those of us who are not buying 10,000 of them at once would be paying about $18.00 for them (before shipping, which is EXHORBITANTLY expensive) I could order almost 50% more product if it wasn't for the shipping rates!
So, you can buy them from overseas vendors for 20-ish dollars, then pay shipping and wait 2 weeks to get one, or you can get one from a reputable US dealer at a higher price and still probably pay less for it after shipping and get it in 3 to 5 days.
Batteries do NOT last forever, nor do atomizers. "Free trials" are usually not "Free" at all and you will wind up paying enough to buy 3 good e-cigs before they are done with you.
The e-cigs that look like cigarettes also generally do not hold very much liquid and they will pound you when you buy the replacement cartridges.
Before buying any e-cig, research it before you plunk down your hard earned money. E-cigarettes are a product that sell themselves, yet there are so many who feel the need to tack a scam onto them to make even more profit.

Yeah...where the heck were you a year ago?!?!?!
I found out the hard way, burned out the atty in three days, but they were really good about it, because they did not offer nicotine refills, and I also told them I could get the cartridges, filled, WITH nicotine, for $5 a box as opposed to their $15...
They canceled my order pronto. Kind of an expensive ($69.95) lesson...
