I really enjoy my time reading, posting and sharing on this E-Cig forum VapeAtron, but the below issue is frustrating me very much. (We all no what extra stress and frustration may make us want to do!!) It may be effecting others as well so...

Please help if you can...

Since the LeCig font and Sass-e-cig post. I looked up the Sass-e-cig thread to check them out...

Long story short... I clicked what I thought was a search frame at the top of their first post and haven't been able to get rid of it since.

(It only appears in this browser (Firefox), only on this PC and only when I log in. It does not effect my log on with other PC's; I have three.)

Top first post and the very bottom in every thread are effected.

Annoying is too tame a word!! Its driving me crazy!!!

It may be just a browser problem, but I want it gone!

Can you help?

TIA!

--Dave

(Sorry this is a double post/thread and I sincerely apologize, but it got very few views in General Discussion, so mods please feel free to delete the first one.)

Stehle,
Have you cleared history and cookies via the tools, options, privacy, show cookies, clear all cookies, process?

When you close your browser (firefore) does a pop-up window come up asking you to confirm deleting history and cookies come up? I would delete everything from a surfing session using the tools, options, always clear my privacy data, ask me before clearing privacy data, settings, option.
I don't leave cookies, passwords, history in my browser history while I sleep
I can help setting your privacy setting so you can clear that, I think.

Sometimes history and cookies can save you time next time you plan on visiting a site.
Often, the cookie is used to track your surfing habits and provide you with interesting ads based on your surfing history, including sites you go to when shopping, paying bills.
I guess getting ads for energy saving products and "meet singles in your area" would be important when using the internet to pay your electric bill

Cookies and IP addresses are ways the web advertising companies (A lot of them are LEGIT) keep track of what is popular. You want to be popular, right?

Did you know that search engines are smart enough to associate your various entries in forum posts to identify a person's first and last name, state, sometimes city, and email address and target you for important ads and promotions you would hate to miss out on?
Like extracting names from things like johnsonjoseph99? in Cincinnati?
A search engine has NO PROBLEM associating that through every internet service licensed to do business in Ohio and waiting for a match. Even if it takes 64000 tries. The one that doesn't net them a "undeliverable" message is Joe. Joe will now get important information on meeting really reaaly sweet young ladies that would like to do really really cool things to his johnson, which by the way has been recently enhanced with the pills he bought from the e-mails he got on that topic.
Cookies are just so darn helpful.

Rocket, IP address 131.99.99.oh-shit

I typically use one computer to surf (the laptop in front of the 50 inch) and another to pay bills, do secret shit, etc.
I set firefox up so that I get the prompt message deleting cookies, passwords, history every time I close the browser. Often I will keep the show cookies pop-up on screen just to watch what cookies are being set while I surf. I delete and in some cases block ad cookies while I surf. Most are harmless, some can be malicious, some can be exploited if left on your computer (do your cookies talk to each other?).

A freeware program ATF Cleaner.exe (search for it) is often recommended by some computer nerds. After you close your browser, you can use it to delete a lot of Temp files, before running your nightly virus check, which, of course, you have just updated.

Regardless of how much info you keep off your computer, some of your info will be stored on the webservers you connect through to get to the webserver you visited.
You are never any more secure than they are.

Nope, I toss old cookies out of the jar

another thing I try to do is when someone puts a bit of personal info in one of their posts, and I "Quote" something from that post, I don't copy the personal stuff (or delete it before I save).
Sometimes people forget and put something that is TMI. Help em out.
