| I just got Plain Jane menthol from e-cigs.com .... Gawd it's awful!!!!!!! Tastes like I am vaping what i would expect a mix of dirty bathwater and antifreeze would taste like.
I was so jazzed when I got a visit from the DHL guy today. Ordered the juice on Monday from Shanghai. I swear they teleported it. Ripped the package open, filled a cartomizer, took a draw, and damn near vomleted. Went from giddy to sad in about 2 seconds flat. Then I spent the past two hours building a slow white-hot rage because I cant get anyone on their end to talk to me in any way, shape, or form. Telephone, live chat, contact box. Nuthin'. Finally got a bite from live chat, only to be given an email address to send my problems.
Have any of you had this happen? Am I SOL? |

| Kali, e-juice taste is "subjective". Most vendors will tell you that, so you are probably SOL.
The site you referred to is www.e-cigs.com? Correct?
and just where did you run across them?
Was it here on Vapeaton? I'm not trying to be unkind, just watch where you get recommendations.
Why don't you try www.madvapes.com and get a small bottle of his menthol. You might not like it either, but it's a cheap Chinese juice that most seem to thing is OK.
Rocket
(saw you surfing the forum last night, Welcome to the forum on your first post. Sorry it was on a bad note)
You could send the yukky menthol juice to Steam. He'll vape anything. That's what I do

| Thanks Rocket.
I am just going to chalk this up to stoopid noobie mistake and move on. I guess for some reason I naively thought that juice was juice. Then I spent the past few nights sneaking around in here and learned a bunch and laughed a bunch more. ( I suppose I wasn't as sneaky as I thought I was....) |

| I am not sure if he would even vape it. I think they accidentally (on purpose) sent me formaldehyde flavor instead of menthol. Dammit. I am so bummed out! I was looking forward to cool refreshing menthol. I only have 2 carts left and the place i get them (semi)local is out. I really, really, reallyreally do NOT want to have to smoke a ciggie!
Wonder if I added flavoring to it, if it would mask that ickiness and at least make it a 911 juice... Where can I get good flavors? |

| Kali,Welcome to the madhouse.
Best guess is to find an online supplier that has 5ml or 3ml samples. It may take 3-4 days to get supplies, but if you're seriously considering subbing vaping for smoke you just added years to your life;what are a couple of days gonna matter.
We have good member merchants around here.
There are places like valuevapor that have like 6-8 menthol/mint flavors. I don't have sophisticated taste buds so chinese juices are okay for me. My current menthol is dekang camel and dk menthol 50/50. Good luck on sorting this out for your tastes.

| as avid menthol smoker Kali..I would recommend vapor renu menthol and maybe 555menthol if you like tobacco flavor in it...Stormy also has a nice minthol as well I use a lot...Ive been drifting away from tobacco flavors but initially when I started it was all menthol all the time...not so much anymore but at first it was much more like analogs for me...I never went back and that was a little over 11 months ago
I think I know the after taste yuor talking about...Chinese stuff has like a pinesol chemical after taste to me..

| There are so many good juices/vendors out there, so don't get discouraged. It took me a while to get a handle on what i like to vape, and it ended up being completely different than what I thought I would like.
One good way to try a lot of new flavors is on ecf they have a group called PIF where members offer up lots of stuff, then a member takes that lot and offers up a lot of their own. Also there is what is called the treasure chest where members just give extras away to those who could use it.
I have done the PIF thing a few times and gave and gotten some great things.
Just hang in there and peruse the ejuice section here as it has some good vendors on there as well. |

| Ugh.. I'm still up working on a database for a client when I couldn't keep my eyes open or think straight 3 hours ago... so pardon any misspellings or grammar.
Hi Kali.
Another Floridian. Cheers!
Where in FL are you?
Sorry bout your vaper's xmas stocking getting filled with coal.
Been there, done that... will probably do it again...
I feel your pain, and will shoot you a PM.
I'm playing around with some DIY recipes and they certainly can't be any worse than formaldehyde flavor... or can they?...
Let me know what mg strength you vape, what percentage of PG/VG, and any particular flavors you like besides menthol and I'll try to throw an emergency care package in the mail for you tomorrow.
Since you're in my home state you should get it before you have to go buy a pack of ciggys.
Don't worry, I'll try not to include any of my patented "Carto-full-of-ass" recipes.
Ugh... double ugh... I have to get some sleep now. Mrs Wiz has already come out of the bedroom and given me "the look" because I have to get up for work in 3 hours. |

Madvapes is a good reccomend for cheap china ejuice.
I've been pretty happy with the flavors I've gotten before... maybe not so comfortable with the unknowns... but happy with the flavor anyway. |

| Feeling zombified this morning... if I wasn't up to my eyeballs in mortgages and debt I woulda stayed in bed.
Correction: It was a different place I tried china juices from. I haven't tried the Madvapes china juice. I've only ordered their Top Vapor juice which is supposedly made in the US... now whether or not it's made with Dekang flavoring I don't know, but I just wanted to clarify what I tried and liked.
Hey Kali, if you live down near my neck of the woods, Dade, Broward or West Palm, let me know and I'll meetup with you. |

| Good Morning!
Thanks guys for all your support, I really appreciate it.
Mr. Wizard: You have a PM!
Brutus: Thanks! I am looking there now!
Berger: You hit it right on the nose! Pine-sol + formaldehyde + some bathwater = what I got. It even looks like used mopwater in the bottle.
RY4: Thanks for the sorries! I was so mad! I don't know what I was thinking, but now I know. And as they say, knowing is half the battle!
40bikes: That is so true. What's another coupladays, huh? I picked up a Mistic from a Pilot station on a trip to TN exactly a month ago today and have only smoked one ciggie since. It was terrible. I have a full pack sitting in my car that I have no want to smoke. But luckily I have had plenty of these cartomizers since then. But that is getting a bit costly, as there is no way a carto equals a pack. Not the way I smoke, er vape. Plus I am driving from Gainesville to Ocala when I am out. I woulda thought there would have been more places in a college town like Gainesville to get vaping supplies. There are about 6 head shops here, and they all looked at me like I was crazy when I asked them about e-cigs, as have most of the gas station attendants. Every once in a while I come across a Njoy, but they want an arm and a leg plus $30 for them. So it has been to my best interest to just drive 25 miles to get 5 yummy cartomizers for $15. But dang. That's just too much. I can go through those in 2 days. Easy.
Thanks again guys for all your help. |

| So I sent e-cigs.com an email after a lot of hullaballoo and my aforementioned two hour slow white hot rage burn, and I got this in return:
Hello, Kali,
I am so sorry for all you have suffered. I am really apologied for this.
I understand you didn't like the taste of our Eliquid, as everyone has his own taste. I want to help you out, I understand how one feels when spent money on something he didn't like.
However, you know, you cannot send the liquid back, this is the problem. In this case, we can't refund you the money. I know this is sound unacceptable. But we have no choice. We really want to help.
So, we , out of choice, really frustrated, decide to issue a coupon for you, the coupon value the price of the liquid. This is ultemate step we can take back. I hope you can understand .
Hear from you soon
Thanks & Best regards,
Vanni

| Spend your coupon. What have you got to lose.
That is about the best you can expect from any e-juice vendor.

| Kali welcome to the forums!!
At least you got a coupon, that was nice of them. Since the menthol didn't work try a flavor you really like. Mine was blueberry, now I seem to be losing interest in blueberry and really liking hazelnut, yumm. |

| I hate to say this, but it may not be the best time of year to order juice that can't be delivered quickly. Heat is bad.

Just had one of those 10 minute sun-shower downpours... now steam is coming off the road and I'm working outside, drenched in sweat. |

| Welcome Kali, and sorry to hear your first experience was a bad one. Luckily it was only juice, mostly the cheapest component of the whole process. That engrish was worse than usual as well. Initially I went through at least four or five sample packs of five 3ml to 5 ml bottles and only liked one tobacco flavor at all. After trying a lot of my wife's sweet stuff, she likes the desert and fruit flavors, I found a few things to combine that tobacco flavor with, including just flavoring, and that keeps me happy for the time being. Think I've been using the same two flavors for about three weeks now straight. Like others previously stated, small samples at first are the way to go, keep in mind the larger juice quantities available from the sites you try also. We've bought from a few vendors now, but the stuff I really like is a little pricy and comes in 30ml max. I wish I'd have considered when we first started trying flavors to look for sites that sell up to 60 or 120ml for increased saving. We'll be starting the sample process all over again when we're half out of stock to try to find a cheaper supplier of flavors we like.
I hate to hear of the prices for the carts you go 25 miles to a gas station to find also. Just met a fellow this week who bought his first ecig from a local tobacco shop, and he paid 90 bucks for a 180mah kit and had his head completely filled with garbage from the owner of said store. He was a bit offended when I gave the slightest hint of a suggestion that he didn't get his money's worth on that purchase.
Good luck on your flavor hunt!
btw, did I see someone mention here about diluting menthol crystals to add to flavors or was that another forum?

| Glass, you can make menthol drops by dissolving menthol crystals in water or grainn alcohol or 100 proof vodka then dilute further with VG. 1/4oz. will make about 4oz. of drops that are very very strong in flavor.
