Yes, I know, a horrible pop culture reference.. But I couldn't help myself...

Anyway, has anyone tried achieving sweetness in their liquid? I was thinking this when I first tried creating a straight maple (our maple is a tobacco blend). The problem was that maple just didn't taste very maple-y without the sweetness.

...However, I was in the grocery store the other day and passed through the sweetening aisle and saw stevia liquid, and splenda (sucralose), aspartame, xylitol, etc. And, well, the stevia (because it was in liquid form) got me thinking...

Now, aspartame would be out as it breaks down quickly at high temperatures and if it's not in an acid, but sucralose, stevia or xylitol may work.

So my question is this: Have any of you juice hackers ever tried to get a sweet taste in your e-liquid? I may try, when I have free time (sometime this decade, I hope), but thought I'd throw it out there and see if this had occurred to anyone else.

Stevia is a natural sweetner. The leaves of the stevia are the sweetness... Not sure tho if stevia is sticky like sugar

Well, it's time to mix up another batch of juice for the swamplady this weekend.
I think I will try some with Stevia. She uses a 901 and me a 510. If we try and limit only one atomizer each for the sweetened juice it should help to identify any detrimental impact to atty life.
A quick check shows the liquid Stevia is water and alcohol (and PG/VG) soluble.
I guess I will have to guess at a concentration to start off with.

Update to follow this weekend.

Adding Vanilla or Cream flavors will sweeten the taste of most mixes ... but they also impart their own flavors to your new blend.

I would suggest starting with 1 drop of whatever you use per 3ml tester bottle (or about 2% by volume) and plan on making adjustments.

Also, VG is sweeter than PG. Mixing about 0.5% Everclear will thin the VG to the proper consistency, and will take away some of the "softness" from the sweetness.

It is very concentrated don't use much. Try dipping a toothpick in stevia and stirring into the mix. I use one drop on a bowl of cereal.

What is the liquid Stevia your guys are talking about? I've only known it as a leaf.

Is it an extract or ???

I *think* I remember reading a label on a stevia-based product but it was chock-full of other not-so-natural things. Hmmmm....

I just got some Stevia with my order of cacoa nibs so I'll do a couple small extraction with various solvents such as PGA, Water, PG, VG, and unflavored juice this weekend and see how it goes.

look it up Generic...its a bush and the leaves are the sweetness of it...diabetics should be careful with it it can lower their sugar levels fast so be careful how they use it

Oh another thing about sweet stevia... nestea wanted to use it as the sweetner in their teas and guess what......FDA wouldn't approve it...even tho it has been in use for over 400 years in china and is used in Europe as a sweetner like we use sweetnlow at cafes

Stevia you can get by the sweetners in the grocery or healthfood stores. Mine is Sweetleaf brand. It is a liquid. tastes just like sugar but is zero calorie and natural. Yes it is from the plant.

O.K. I put a couple drops into my cartridge and it vaped fine but I didn't really notice any sweetness in the vape, but on a good note when you get the juice in your mouth it just tastes like sugar!

Stevia has been used in juices from others at other forums with great success, experiment away with no worries.

I've been adding a bit of raspberry to the flavors that aren't already sweet/fruity (1 drop of raspberry to 10 of the other flavor). It gives just a hint of sweetness without being able to actually taste the raspberry.
