My wife and I both use the DSE-901. Overall we are happy with it. I have had some issues with one of my batteries where even though it has a full charge it will blink and then not work. I have found that if you tap it a few times where it joins the atomizer it will begin working again although that is no solution.

I got one and love it - I wish it had a better capacity on the cartridge. It doesn't pull all the juice out of it, either.
Be careful with the USB passthrough - mine shorted out today right where the wire goes in to the LED. I was able to take it apart and rewire it, but be careful all the same - folding the wire over at the tip will break the wires eventually. Try to keep it from bending.

Batteries are hit and miss. Myself and a friend both have one and both sufferred from battery death within a week or two. Luckily they were replaced by the site I ordered them from.
Still, a very nice device and great for beginning.

Reamember that there are other models that are being sold as a DSE901.
It sounds like alot of you have the RN model. This one has battery problems and dosent suck as much juice out of the cartridge. A real DSE901 will have the letters SLB on the end of the battery.

I would say this is probably the workhorse of the current e-cig products available on the market.

I bought a dse901 as my first ecig and I love it. The only other one I have used is a dse801 which is hit or miss most of the time. (Bought the 801 off ebay for a cheap price, so I probably got a dud).
Although my atomizer and battery are labeled slb, I have the same problem with it not pulling all the liquid out of the carts. I should clarify this a bit though. It seems to eventually use *most* of the liquid, I just don't get the same amount of vapor throught the entire cartridge. It seems to vape really good at first, but the amount of vapor will significantly decrease after a dozen pulls or so. As a result, I usually will top off the cart.
This is not an issue with me as I will ususally drip liquid onto the atomizer or top off the cart with liquid. This method works very well and you get tons of vapor. Although it seems 2 drops will only give you awesome vapor for about 10 pulls and then it will start to trail off. If I don't re-drip, I can still smoke it for awhile after that, but I have to take a longer drag to get the same amount of vapor.
Overall, I am very pleased with the 901s performance. If it wasn't for e-liquid, it would not be very satisfying however.
On a side note.... what 901's have an 8 hole atomizer??? Didn't know such a beast existed.

The DSE-801 Pen Style & DSE-901 are going by the wayside!
The New models, EM-801 Pen Style & EM-901, are a much better unit.
They have new technology, a longer lasting battery, and yes, these models have a 4-hole atomizer. Unlike the old ones which had 2.
As far as 8-holes? Might be thinking of a Golf Course? oh, that's 9.
No, haven't seen that yet. However, the 4-holes work great! Easier to draw, and produce much more vapor.
I still have my DSE-801 Pen Style, and it works great after almost 5 months! I just finally changed the atomizer because I was using a New U.S. companies eLiquid and it clogged it up! Pretty bottles, but sticky stuff!
If you would like to check them out here is the link: EM-901 & Em-801 pen Style Kits Link

Do you know if the USB passthrough batteries used with the DSE-901's will also work with the new EM-901?

I have a 901 Passthrough for sale in the classifieds. Also will have penstyle USB passthrough for sale probably too.
Both work great, but I am moving away from 901s.

It is very very good, I sell them for much less than others. I do like them better than the other901 variety's.

Vapor4life | I was under the impression that vapornine.com was selling em-901's; which he called 901klr's. Although, he had problems with his 901klr's, so he liquidated them. If the 901klrs where not in fact em-901, I'd be interested in one. The only place (besides Steve now) that has em-901's that I know of is eastmall.net.
BTW, welcome to the site Steve!

What is the difference between an EM-901 and the older 901's?
Are the carts different? or just the design of the electronics? ???
I have am EM from Healthy Smoke Shop and I do enjoy it. I am torn between it and the first e-cig I bought: the Pilot that gets raved about so. I may like my 901 more.

The new em901 is a better atomizer.. 4 hole instead of 1. easyer draw.. when Janty finally gets all my orderes to me i am getting 2 or 3 of them.. The carts hold more juice. and the batts are suposubly longer lasting..

Thanks, H3
I do find the draw to be excellent. I only see one large hole in the atomizer rather than four, though.
The battery life seems about the same as that of my Pilot, 3-4 hours with fairly heavy use.
I see a definite improvement in the cart design.
I have nine unopened blank old style carts from the 10 pack I ordered.
If anyone wants them, drop me a line.

A word of caution to 901 owners (and maybe other models): the threaded adapter at the end of the battery is lightly pressed into the stainless tube of the battery and can come loose. Tightening with too much force when connecting the atomizer or battery charger (remember lefty loosey, righty tighty) or back pocket failures can cause this fitting to come loose. If it comes out two small wires are exposed and can easily break. If it spins in the tube the wires will twist. A very small amount of super glue on the fitting has worked. But don't let the glue run into the tube, the next part in line is the air flow switch. These are sensitive, delicate and somewhat expensive devices.

Also, their is effectively 2 electrical contacts on the battery and two on the atomizer (look closely). Your e-liquid is an insulator - and can keep the e-cig from working if the contacts get coated with juice (or super-glue).

Is the Ultimate DSE901B on Electronic-ash.com a newer model?
