| I did a spring mod for a little while till I got a hold of some... blue stuff. I guess a lot of people recommend the fluval water polishing pads-- haven't found that here in Hawaii, but I got some Pondmaster fine polyester media (polishing pads) which I just cut plugs out of (10mm x 10mm x 30mm) & replace whatever came in the original carts. After about 5-6 refills I replace the blue stuff w/ fresh plugs. IT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE.
Personally I like the DSE801 it just seems more convenient when I'm @ work, being as I don't sit behind a desk-- less refilling, batts last pretty long, etc... if they only made a ball point attachment it'd be perfect. Maybe I'm just lucky, gone through 2 attys since Oct 09. All my stuff comes from HC.
Rocket's right it does produce a lot of vapor-- especially when it wicks good. |

| I just "made" my first 801. I didn't order any carts, and the mouthpiece that came with it was a 'dummy', not long enough to reach the atty and no batting...soooo I took some Fluval foam, filled the chamber, loaded it with juice...HOLY CRAP! I hooked it up to the Atty Smasher first, and then to the 18650 mod. Wow! This thing kicks like a mule! I think we found a winner! (If the attys last...)

The last atty was like inhaling fumes from burning plastic. Throat still sore.
Sorry, don't have an answer - just wanted to share. | Sorry to hear that. Since my last post, i have gone thru 6 batteries but no atty's. All were covered by NJot's warranty (1 YEAR) but it's still a hassle.
Two month's ago i got a Intellicig Evo (M401) and it's been a dream!! Great hits and battery life. I'm now hooked on the Evo. Best of wishes on your vaping journey |

| Yes, its as satisfying as a real cigarette. its a lot lighter "smoke" aka vapor and obviously taste a lot better. on the first day of buying an ecig i did not have the urge to have an analogue!! E-Cig Wiki In this time I've only had 2 analogues, and really have also slowed down on the vaping |

| Thanks for all of the input. I do agree that it is best to have 2 or 3 different ecigs to rotate through so that you minimize wear and tear. Even on my 520, I find that I do have to top off quite often and have learned that a dark or burnt taste when I inhale is a sign to top off right quick. When I do top off, I also usually drop a couple of drops into the atty to help things along. |

| ~Late-comer, chiming in, half-informed, on the 801~
I came by mine sort of half-accidentally. I'd ordered some chrome driptips for my 510s and 901s, bu the seller was all out of the tapered style I prefered, in chrome, for 510. After scrounging around and reading a bunch of posts, I somehow got the impression that the 801 version would fit my 510s. Not even close. The tips cost 99 cents, so shipping them back, when it was my own misjudgement to order them, seemed silly. Instead, I just spent another 2 bucks on adapters, (901-801 and 510-801,) and ordered an 801 atty that was on sale. I figured, it was a learning experience, and it has been. Thing is HUGE! I have no cart, just a drip tip, and mostly, the 510 and 901 bats seem to sell it short, power-wise. Hooking it to my 510 pass-thru has been the most successful.
The atty did have a lot of primer, I tried first to cook through it, but when it just wouldn't go, I washed it out with vodka. In general, I've found vodka or rum to be excellent at removing primer, even though many will caution against washing atties. I've never had a problem, and wash all my atties pretty often, in alcohol or near-boiling water. Once dry, they're fine and fresh.
I'm looking at getting a battery for the 801, soon as I find one on sale that's convenient to order. Right with Rocket about self-defense. It's top heavy like a medieval mace or something. I will also grant that they're kinda pretty- the clear, colored enamel is sleek as hell.
Oh- one other odd thing- has anyone felt these things go POP? Mid-vape, now and then, I'll feel it pop against my mouth like firewood will sometimes do when the heat hits a pocket of sap- no extra heat or other badness seems to come from it... and I could see nothing damaged on the atty after this happened. None of my other atties has ever done that.

I'd be able to expound on it a bit more...if I could get one to last more than three hours...

| Hey, there shouldn't be much different in the factory batts. If your connector and adaptors are clean you should be good to go. 801 batts are 280 mAh like an 808d-1
The factory carts don't drain well even if modded with blue foam in the cart. It's not bad for dripping, but I've got the adaptors so I may try 801 cartos next.
I don't like the atty and The Cartos are useless to me if they don't drain all of the juice so if you want a slightly used black atty and some 801 carts let me know they're yours. I do keep the rubber tips for my mods, they go on the outside of 510/901 size cartos instead of inside the cart on a 801. Let me know BTW valuevapor has 801 batts for 10 bucks

| Hey- speaking of...
a bit off-topic, but have you found any particular hakked combinations that work better than they do with their original parts? (for example, combining 510 bat with the 801 atty, or others...) I'm feeling this 801 really needs a kick in the ass, powerwise, but I get the impression that the 801 bats aren't really the kick I'm thinking of...

| Flash with all of the BlahBlahBlah about batts and attys I think you would get better hit usinga genuine Joyetech atomiser on a 3.7v battery, the atomiser has a lower than normal resistance that was designed to be used on a 3.3v battery.
Don't know about the 801. Speaking of which if you don't want that atty someone else does, , you get first shot.

I didn't say that. *coughs* Anyway, I'm just prone to experimenting with parts. It seems to me the thing is good, it just needs the right hook-up. *shrugs* I'm very happy with the 510s, too. Versatility is also a very good thing- another reason for the adapters and switching parts around.

| Flash,My Dear, you talk like my wife I'm never quite sure what you said or what you meant. Was that a yes on the atty? I can send it tomorrow, if I don't have to go pick up my motorcycle.
