Your going to get tired of hearing from me but remember the cigar I had that died, well it's alive again. I got a glass cigar tube from a real cigar (remember the ones we had to light with fire?) I put my e-ciger in and filled it with coca cola and let er sit for a couple hours, washed it out good with very hot tap water, shook it dry then let it sit a couple days to dry more and.........it's working like new again. Sooooo don't give up SINNER your cigar has a chance.

Just a few minutes ago the switch stuck on my cigar. Not the one I saved a few times but the brand new one I got as a backup. I took a hit and put it in my X-ashtray and when I picked it up a couple mins later.....I put it down verrrry fast. Man it was hot!!! Now I'm paranoid of it. What if that happened at work while in my shirt pocket in front of people? Getting burned is one thing but I don't want these things to get a bad rep. Mine is a 701 but I think it's the same as the 4062 and maybe a couple others. Anyway I'm not trying to make others paranoid but this is something you might want to watch out for.

it happens man. freaked me out the first time too.

basically...the microsensor that fires up the atomizer when you suck in is very sensitive to sound and vibrations. sometimes it will get to bouncing around in your pocket and will get stuck in the on position.

usually you catch it pretty quickly...its hard not to notice the burning sensation near your thigh...and if it does happen just pop the battery out and set it aside for a bit to cool down.

sometimes...you dont catch it fast enough. i believe thats what happened with my dead tube. i caught it going atomic one day while it was sitting in front of a speaker on my desk

live and learn...and accidentally blow things up.

It kinda hurts ya know. I was in love with this 701 and now I don't trust it. Just like my x-wi.........well never mind that. I guess what I like most is the cartridge size, it's huge compared to others. I wonder about the pen styles. I've read that they have a large cartridge but I read about them being undependable too. I hate spending the money unless I'm fairly certian of what I'm buying. I did get my cigar going again but it is verrrry weak and tastes like.........well I better not say here. I can understand yours not working now if it self destructed like mine. Oh well, I'll wipe my tears and move onward. Back to puffing the trusty ole 901 for awhile.

Thanks Rocketman,

The proper term for the taste is:
Burning plastic mop bucket.

What I was thinking I didn't want to say in mixed company.
Did you make your mod yourself or buy it? Will you post a link or pic when you get a chance? Myself and I'm sure others would greatly appreciate it. Thanks Rocket!!!

Hey Rocketman, never mind, I see you have already posted a pic of your mods. Sweeeeet!!! I've got a flashlight just like that too that I never use so maybe I'll experiment and hope I don't mess anything up too much.

Man, I love my 701........when it works. I can take such light little draws and get a nice tasting vapor. I like the huge cartridge too. I got mine from Al at E-Cigarette-USA.com and he is a really great salesman and has replaced mine a couple times and now I feel bad if I have to tell him another one bit the dust. But when I do he is so decent about it. I also know it isn't his fault if something goes bad, he don't make them he just sales them. I plan to get another model from him.....something that has a better reputation for lasting longer. I'll get it from Al too because he really knows how to treat customers. I just wish they would get the bugs out of the cigar though because when it works nothing works better imho. By the way jimmieu, would you mind sharing how you made your pass thru?

Just might be a $400.08 mod. Please be careful. A laptop powers it's USB ports via a surface mount micro miniature fuse. Fry the fuse, USB gone forever. Laptop will probably survive. Check out the link from a Dell support forum (if it's on a forum it's gotta be true, right?). USB spec is 5 volts at 500ma. Real close to the normal operating condition of the cigar. What if something goes wrong?

The Rocket, saving your money is my pleasure.

A USB add on card might be available for your desttop:
something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815201023
or a PCMCIA card for your laptop like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16839101111

You burn up a cheap part if you screw up.
Man, I hate to keep editing this but,
Look at most "good" pass throughs, You use the USB to charge a battery that supplies the atomizer with power (what a pain). The really cheap ones seem to power directly from the USB port.
