I call this mod Dr. Tooth after the Muppet character with the big gold tooth.

I'm going to do this in text only because I don't have photo capability. It is dead simple and only requires min. skill and tools( I have little of either) This mod immediately becomes public domain. Anyone can use it make as many as you want and sell them on the street corner; don't care, just trying to share my fun. Any one who wants to photo document their build and post it here that would be nice for us all.

If this has been done I haven't seen it and I apologize if I infringed or offended. On to the build:

Necessaries:
1) Dr. Fresh electric tooth brush (I found these at the Dollar Tree store in medicines and dental care. Price :$1.00)
1) battery connector of choice for your ecig
2)5" pieces of 22 or 24 awg wire
some electronics solder
1) 14500 3.7v LiIon battery
scrap plastic ( almost anything)
super glue and 2pt 5minute epoxy

Tools: soldering iron
hack saw blade or dremel tool
needle nose pliers that aught to do it.

1: The tooth brush come with a AA battery pull the base battery bolder off and put the batt in the holder and put it back together; (this 1.5v batt can be used for all electrical and switch testing while your 14500s are shipped from China.) the sw. on the base turns it on;try it. Bzzzzzzz
2: Remove the brush stem by turning CCW . ( after washing bag and brush head ,throw both in one of those little parts bags you have several of, along with a squeeze of Ultrabright tooth paste put it in your man purse and congratulate yourself on arrival in the 21st century and being cool.)
3: Cut off the remaining stem on the front (Top?) of the tooth brush and sand the top (Small end?) flat or smooth, the atty will go here later.
4: Go to the Big end and try the switch again; BZZZ,good.
Now push it slowly and you should find that the buzzer comes on BEFORE the sw. locks in the on position. We're going to block the forward stroke of the switch so that it will turn on but not lock on.
5: Scrap plastic time. I used part of a tine from a picnic fork. what you have to do is cut a peice of plastic that will be glued to the front wall of the cup where the sw. is. My piece came out to be "about" 1/2" long x1/16" thick and little deeper than 1/16 front to back between the sw amd the wall. YOU will have to cut , grind, or sand the scrap to find that sweet spot where the motor is on but not locked on . Keep cutting and trying by putting the block in between th"ON" side of the switch and the front wall of the cup. When you find the sweet spot you will be able to push the button forward(holding your work piece in place), the buzzer will buzz and when you turn the sw loose it will return to the off position on its own, the buzz will cease.
GLUE the little block in place in the same way it was when you were smiling. You have just made a momentary switch from a SPST fixed switch. Take a break, don't drink adult beverages as we will be using Powertools and soldering next bikes

bikes is da man,
You need a camera. You will get a cramp grinning seeing your creation posted. Others will get a cramp grinning seeing your creation. I can "see it" and my jaw is cramping.

I am gonna have to get a bigger "man Bag" mine is full.
This switch mod should apply to lots of cheap battery devices out there. Great idea.

I should get out my digital camera and post the aftermath of this mod. I chose this because it was the perfect size for the TI adjustable voltage source. I mounted the TI chip and the resistor and capacitor to a piece of pcb, set the voltage to 4.2V, mounted the switch and the power connector.

It went fine for a while, but under heavy vaping the battery connector warms up...and the plastic melts! It was a good idea, but I wound up with the battery connector and a gooey mess heading for my lap!

Like I've said, everytime I got to a store, it turns into a mod hunt. This one wasn't so good, or you would have seen it here!

Okay in continuation of the Dr. Tooth big battery mod. :
Note: If in step 1 you did not get a buzz the battery was probably put in backwards.
Battery + should go toward the switch in the battery holder(base?) back to step

6) In the top of the body of the former toothbrush which has suddenly become a personal vibrator, you will have to make a hole for your atomiser. Don't make it oversized,... the atty will fall through.. you want a tight fit. I will not p presume to tell you how to make that hole but I made mine with a dremel tool a small drill bit and some grinding stones. whatever tools you are comfortable with; use those and measure 10 times, cut 3or 4 GO SLOWLY until you have a nice tight fit of the atty in the top of the TB body. Remove atty.

7)Now you have to solder two leads to the atomiser: one goes to the atty body(Neg. use black wire) the other goes to the center conductor( + use red wire) if you found your self with only one color of wire try to put a "knot" in the neg side wire and it will "not be hot".
Note : before the next step try your switch again. Bzzz, good. Still turn off when you release tthe button? also good. Your atty is cool now, make sure you can't pull the wires off and look for obvious short circuits due to solder or little stray wires. If you have a meter , great time for a continuity check.

8) Now lets make this mod spill its guts. Pull the battery holder out of the big end of the TB body. The AA will come out (See,I told you it was upside down)
Further up in the body are the prime movers of the vibration mechanism. Take the TB in hand and tap (vigorously) it against your other palm, the machinery should pop right out.
You will have in your hand the spring holder for the negative end of the battery(recall that the+ is at the switch end) the spring and above that (forward of?) the motor the output shaft of which has an eccentric weight which causes"a whole lotta shakin goin on".
Note: the top of the spring holder is open so that the from the batt. neg.spring can make a ground (-) connection with the motor. The motor will be removed so we need a new seat for the spring to sit against so that will be our next plastic scrap mod. Take a look at how everything fits together how the base fits in the body, how the springholder fits in the body , how the the motor is attached to the spring holder check it out. If you want to put it back together and get acquainted go ahead . It will still BZZZ at this point when reassembled. I'm taking a break. I'll try to finish the build on the next go round. bikes

Newegg.com - Coby CAM3000 Black 1.3 MP CMOS 1.5" LCD 4x Digital SNAPP Mini Digital Camcorder

If you need a cheap camera or something, I got a buddy that bought this little thing and it works fine for his eBay photos.

OK guys and girls if your through messing around with the personal vibrator,so to speak
lets kiss it good bye and finish this mod.
9) You need to seperate the motor and spring holder. There are two mechanical connections which are also electrical on a little "T" bar on the motor. A little arm of the base of the spring connects on one side and provides chassis ground to the motor. use those needle nose pliers and wiggle the spring connection off that side of the motor ground terminal. Once that's loose close the loop on the spring wire down to about the same as your atty wires.
Now rotate the spring holder"basket" off to the other side and you should be able to liberate the positive motor connection from the other side of the "t". Throw the motor in the parts bin and get your scrap ready, find your epoxy( both parts). Plug in the soldering iron.
10) Feed the atty wires through the hole in the top(nose) of the mod body and push atty into place. The wires should be sticking out the bottom of the TB body.
11) Cut some scrap to fit the top of the spring holder .(you can use plastic, soda can whatever there is not going to be much pressure on it and it is no longer part of the electrical circuit.) On the top of the spring basket are two little posts sticking up so notch you round scrap cap for those posts. Put the cap in place. Now take that HOT
soldering iron and mash those posts down to hold the cap in place. ( you did plug in the soldering iron)
12) Take your spring and center it in the basket, then bend that arm you removed from the motor contact upward so that it points toward the atty., just make sure it doesn'T hang out into the body and cause problems putting everything back together. Be gentle when you bend the spring. You can mix some epoxy and put a smallbead around the perimeter of your basket cap and fix the spring arm so it doesn't move around, leave the little loop un glued so you can apply solder. You Are nearly complete. Wait an hour on you 5.min epoxy.
13) Cut your atty wires down in length to about 3/4" sticking out of the mod body. solder the black atty wire to that loop on the spring arm. The red wire gets soldered to the connection you wiggled off the other side of the motor way back when. That positive side little bar makes an electro mechanical connection with the contact at the top of the base battery holder. The spring basket "Tops out" at the right height to make that + connection.
14) Check you soldering job, look it over if you feel you did a good put your double A in the batt holder positive end down, put the batt holder back in place.. Any smoke?
Try your buzzer, if it buzzes you really screwed up. Still no smoke ? Find an old atomiser gently screw it on, hit your button, Still no smoke, is the atty getting a little warm? Good. 1.5v will probably not vaporize e-juice but should heat up the atty a little, at least warm to the touch.

Couple more steps and were done:
a) go get a digital multimeter 10 bucks at harbor freight
read the voltage check and resistance check sections of the manual
b) check all your electrical work it will be worth it BTW if you got any smoke on your dynamic checks earlier you trashed no more than 7bucks worth of materials and you didn't blow up a LiIon battery and endanger the Western Hemisphere.
c)When smiling again mix some epoxy, pull the batt basket out and spread some epox on the back of the atomiser wait an hr. before you mess with it
d) put an atty and cart on it hit the buzzer, good vapor? good flavor? GOOD,VERY GOOD
Enjoy, bikes

Rocket, thanks ,it worked out good but pictures are pointless on my 1 mp camera with scratched plastic lens and I haven't found a charger for my digicam.
D: got a camera, no juice,er... voltage.
Hachi, don't know what to tell you(other than stay away from those 5Amp attys) Mine haven't melted yet(2 of them) but I was pretty generous with the epoxy. I probably am a fairly low order vaper and have 4 or 5 PVs going at any time (puff,Puff, puff switch) each with a different atty and flavor. But my luck isn't all good I have killed 5 batteries in 5days(510s) they are all less than 6 weeks old. The only 510s left are the throw aways from Mad Vapes i hope he gets more.
I knew someone had to have tried this, there are just to many modders out there to have missed this one.
When are you going to build me something nuclear? Oh, still haven't heard from Focal point but someone somewhere said it took a month on one of their orders and Chinese New Years will be a further setback if it hasn't already shipped.
Maybe I could avoid a melt down by encapsulating a couple of ounces of mercury in the nose and painting the whole thing in lead based paint as a heat sink Yeah, that's the ticket: Better living through Chinesestry. Thanks everyone, bikes

The nice lady at the Dollar Tree was impressed when I bought a bunch of flashlights and told her I was making E-cigs out of them, had to show off my Trailer Park in the store.

Now I'm going back and buy a bunch of Tooth Brushes, and tell her I'm making Personal Vibrators out of them. Bet she be impressed by that

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I didn't do the epoxy; I cut the end, measured, cut and press fit the battery connector. If I had used a heat resistant epoxy the outcome may have been better.

Besides, the only color I could find at the time was Hot Pink, so no great loss. I know some of the ladies would like them.

I've heard of Mercury Capsules before, but not for a long, long time...

Hachi, I'm going to wait a couple more battery cycles to see if it lasts and then upgrade the finish with truck bed liner(Worked on my AK) and gold leaf for trim. The 510 atty is small enough to let you cut it above the groove and put the trim ring back on I'm thinking pink trimmed satin black or maybe pearl for the ladies, unless Rocket makes me send mine to the Dollar Tree lady

DwellSouth: Why thank you ma'm, thank you very much. WhoDat. If that 11-07-09 is your smoke free day I'm about a month behind and that is the day I bought my first e-cig Congratulations.
Rocket, no scanner. May cruise by a photo shop and see if I can find or order a charger for my cam . batt. With the fine work I did with my 30 yr old soldering iron and my 6dollar dc dremel from HF I would have a better rep. sending blurry, out of focus, low resolution, scratched lens camera pix from my cell phone

Oggy, I also cut the bristles off and when I'm cleaning my atties after a hot water rinse I throw several in a babyfood jar(I'm a grandpa, I have baby food jars) cover with alcohol and use my new hydrosonic cleaning wand to "stir the waters" so to speak. Very much like the $100.00 jewelry cleaners except I get to stir my pot. Anyone who has watched a hydrosonic cleaner at work would immediately recognise the wave pattern, reverb ,and agitation action. We are talking leatherman toothbrush here. bikes

Awesome 40bikes! I need to get a wand, (beats catching hell from the wife when I use hers), I do like watching the waves.

If your not looking at heavy heat generation you may want to look at Spray Plasti-Dip I used on a few of my inexpensive 510 case mods.

Yeah, ya fink!!! SOLD OUT!!!

I asked the manager what happened to all the 3 AAA flashlights and he said "For some reason, we had a request to send them all to LA." Not a single one to be found in any Dollar Tree around here!

BTW, how close are you to retirement, now that Obama has set NASA on a Global Warming mission rather than space research?

That's what I did. It was just the right place to put the trim ring back on, and it looked great, until it started melting!

I think I destroyed it reclaiming the battery connector...

You can see it here:
