| Yeah.. kinda tacky thread title, but it got your attention, didn't it. ;D
What I'm refering to is this: I'm a vapoholic. Seriously lovelovelove it Can't get enough, and vape in my sleep. (YAY for no more crispy blanket holes!)
But I'm a po' broke struggling musician, and can only afford a couple atties at a time, and I cook through them faster than I expected. (Doesn't help I buy em on the cheap, and they say you get what you pay for, right?)
So, I'm vaping away, and the last of my atties gives it's last little helpless crackle-pop and goes dead as a... No- I think I'll leave that particular gross analogy alone. It goes flat, and sits there like a used up flexy-straw. I know where to get atties cheapish, but it's gonna take days and days before they ship, and I am fiending like the metaphorical gal in the tacky subject line for some nic. I haven't got the right tools or supplies to build my own atty, but the alternative is... drink juice. EWWWWWWW. no.
So... any ideas for emergency vape solutions? Beer-can bong versions? Tin foil and forceps-ni-roachclip and a bic lighter? What's a jonesin' gal supposed to do?!!! Crap. There are still analogs in my house too, dammit. HELP me before I fall into that gruesome chemical hell!

| If you feel like taking a long ride, you can drive to southern Oregon and I'll give you three atomizers with 510 threads and a couple of cartomizers to hold you over. But, in case you didn't know, the custom saber shop is in Cashmere, WA. That might be closer for you.
I'm about 4½-5 hours SE of Portland.

| Oops! Make that TWO with 510 threads, I don't know what the threads are on the third one. It fits a 901 I think.

| My thanks to all for the offer of atties, most welcomed, but alas, it would not overcome the immediacy issue. I have, in fact, managed to revive a couple of wimpering atties, and am hanging on for now, but the real question was more along the lines of, IF one is completely atty-less, and desperately needs a vape, what does one do? Where does one turn? Are there innovative means of vaporizing a little juice any of you can think up which would require only common household stuffs? (ie, tin foil, beer can, etc...) SOME of you probably recall how those are employed for more illicit substances ;D
Hiya Tek! And *lol* You may remember how very electronically inept I've professed to be. The few cartos I have had around I'm pretty sure have all been experimented on and/or gutted to see how they worked and how to make them work better for me. I don't keep much around the house for building that sort of thing, since I'm not really one who does that sort of building really. Still, you MAY have struck a vein after all, and I'll have to rummage and see if I have any surviving cartos left. I loathe them, as a general rule, and never did manage to make nice with them, but in a pinch, I suppose I would declare temporary amnesty...

Second i have some Kenthol wire, it is the wire that makes the heating coil, and that is one method, but ... You said struck a vein and illict ways.. To simplify it, maby a free basing or spoon method, but i would not reccomend it.. due to the fact if it gets too hot, could turn in to a not so safe alt to smoking, and crack ho is a good title of that... |

| Sorry to hear Flashwitt. Panic mode is no fun.
Hope you can find a carto to tide you over.
If not, try to find a gas station that sells disposable ecigs, or call around to local smoke shops/head shops for any other options.
As tek mentioned, if absolutely nothing else is available and you get REALLY desperate you could try the following... (but I would probably buy myself a cigar at that point instead)
If you have any labware handy you can MacGyver a vaporizer out of a boiling flask or Pyrex test tube, a rubber stopper, and a piece of aquarium airline tubing.
Drill 2 holes through the stopper. A large one for the airline tubing and a small one for a vent.
Take a 3" length of tubing and stick it snugly in the large hole for a mouthpiece.
Drip a few drops of ejuice in the flask, and place the stopper on the flask.
Pass a flame under the flask without touching it to vaporize the ejuice and vape on the tube.
If you don't have any labware, you could make a ghetto version using a lightbulb, a soda bottle cap, and some kind of tube for a mouthpiece. (tubing, straw, ballpoint pen, carto tube & drip tip, etc.)
You can see how to carefully prep the lightbulb in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmixODIvAtM
Again, I don't recommend doing this, but since you did mention household items and... other things... this falls along those lines.
Hopefully it doesn't come down to this.

| Flash,I feel your pain Mr.Wiz has a good handle on lab technique.
Have you got a glass 15 or 30 ml dropper bottle? Got a small nail or paper clip? Got a stove?
1)Pull the top and yank the glass dropper out of the bottle top.
2)pull the rubber bulb from the top. cut a 1/4" notch on one edge of the flange that is inside of the cap. Cut 1/2" from the bulb(the part you squeeze)
3)reinstall the rubber part in the cap in the normal direction.
4)Heat that nail/large needle and push it through the cap where the notch is located.( Be careful don't burn yourself,Sweetie)I'm assuming no drill or bits;hence the nail piercing method.
5) Put the glasser dropper tube back in the top backwards;the tube should be sticking out for your mouthpiece.
6)After that put a couple of juice drops in the bottle, put the top on, GLOVES!!WEAR THEM NOW!! heat bottom of bottle with a lighter and if it produces vapor you're back in business
If it works let us know . Should meet all of Wiz' basic requirements for a non electrical vaporizor.
WEAR GLOVES. WEAR GLASSES

| I think it works better with a small length of aquarium hose.
I cut a notch in the inside edge of the cap and a matching notch in the flange of the rubber bulb.
The bulb can be turned to adjust "draw".
Needs a little bigger flame

| I like that even better... less crackhead than the lightbulb. And here I was expecting a tutorial on exactly which parts of a ZX14 could be turned into a vaporizer after losing your PV while highsiding down Mt. Everest and waiting for the rescue chopper.
*Edit*
ROTFLMAO!!!
Now that we have pics, this needs to be officially added to the Professor Rocky series!

| OK, so the emergency candlevape sort of works. It may be difficult to adjust heat input for it to function as a vaporizer instead of a mini-distillery. Maybe not a good idea.
I don't think the glass bottle would stand up to the heat required to 'flash boil' the juice without it evaporating some things before others.
Maybe in a dire emergency, otherwise, learn from your mistakes, under no circumstance run low on cheap cartos, even if you don't like cheap cartos, and juice. People could always find a way to get a pack of cigarettes, try and stock up just a little in the future.
Spare parts, juice, NATO Ammo, and Pop-Tarts

| I prefer Twinkies.
Much longer shelflife and you can't beat a creme filling no matter how hard you try... although a stale poptart might be a better double for a weapon in case of zombie apocalypse... |

| Pop-Tarts in the 'In-Store' package, not the 'Machine' package are aluminized Mylar, good for 40 years, in space.
Takes a K40 to cut into a 40 year old Twinkie. BTDT
But they could be used as a projectile with a mini-potato gun.
