I was joking also I understand what he is saying and then you add in an element like a cheap metal spoon and you could have an extremely nasty mixture.

I am curious about the foil though seeing is that we use it sometimes to grill. Veggies, a little oil and some garlic and onion wrapped in foil and placed on the grill is good stuff.
could get silver sulfade, or some thing from expensive spoons

Flash is a troublemaker, to be sure, and notorious disturber of the sh*t.
I can totally see why anyone might worry about this thread giving people entirely a bad impression, but on the other hand- I am very big on pushing comfort zones once in a while, to discuss stuff we all think about sometimes, but are too paranoid to discuss in public. Honestly speaking, I really can NOT be the only impoverished vapor that ever was. Thus, I can NOT be the only one who's ever considered trying some of these methods. And discussing it rationally, with the brilliant mad scientists of Vapeatron, seems a way better way to find out whether it's really really dangerous, or just ill-advised, or whatever.

As is somewhat normal with someone new to a forum like this, an unsuspecting, over-excited reader may stop reading long before additional details are discussed.
Go back to the first post and stop reading when you run across a "brilliant solution" posted by the "mad scientists of vapeatron". No need to read further, if they recommend it, it must be good, I think I'll go try it. It has happened.

For the record, I don't recommend the candlevape.

agree it's cool looking, and probably not as bad chemically as I make it out to be.

I just shy away from stuff that doesn't taste just right. When Wiz comes back and says it's OK then run with it

I think what we're all missing here is the amounts in question. You want to heat up as little as possible as hot as possible.

Now, I have no aversion to going out and getting a pack of cigs when my vaping apparati pss me off, but what I would try would be to take something like a spoon, and get it REAL hot, and then a fine dropper or pipette and drip a very SMALL amount on to it....

Then turn and RUN

Don't you have to put the juice on the rice before they "puff" it?

Whoa... wait a minute. Do NOT run with anything based on Wiz's opinion...
unless it happens to be scissors.

If anyone tries this it is most certainly at their own risk.
For the record, this one goes in Wiz's category of "not going to try again".

Ok, so after the excitement died down from the tornado that hit our street this afternoon (and after Mrs. Wizard went to bed) I decided to give the lightbulb ghetto vape mod a go.
I sacrificed a high-temp appliance bulb for the experiment and inserted two rigid airline tubes as a pipe stem and vent tube.

First I donned the safety glasses and boiled a few drops of water to make sure it wasn't going to shatter and to see if it generated enough heat to melt the tubing.

Then I used a few drops of 0nic 50/50 PG/VG and vaped it a couple of times.
It wasn't bad.
Almost no vapor was produced as it boiled off, but it had no foul taste either.
Just like breathing hot steam.

Then I decided to go all in and vape a little of the banana cookie pudding recipe I've been working on.
I heated it just until the juice started to boil and produce a little bit of visible vapor, and took a vape.
I will NOT be doing that again.

In the words of a juice reviewer, on a scale of 1 to 10, the throat hit scored a solid 25.
I think I coughed so hard I've rearranged my internal organs.
Again, there was very little vapor.
It did have a hint of the same taste I'd get as in a carto, but something was most definitely off in the flavor.

IMO, this is not the way that eliquid should be vaporized.
I would sooner bum a smoke, or rub ejuice over my body to get my nic fix than try this again.
I don't know if it's the difference in boiling points between the ingredients, or some other factor, but I do know that this is not an acceptable replacement for a proper atomizer.

Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go try and find my spleen and destroy the evidence before Mrs. Wiz wakes in the morning.

thanks for the update, and confirmation
I don't think the effects are permanent. The double vision goes away (with a lot of fresh air) in just a few hours. Photos updated

This guy made a make-shift vaporizer out of a curling iron . . . doesn't look too bad, actually:

I was gonna say, if we're just talking nicfix and not the sensation of vaping, the newbie thinks you kids are over-thinking it for the sake of playing with gadgets.

Having recently discovered just how effective skin absorption is for getting juice into your bloodstream, perhaps just a few drops on your fingertips and rub them together?

caveat stultor

WOW, its the alternate vaping community! Those days are LONG gone for me, but the thread is an interesting read, none the less....Some things in here I would never do and others are insanity at best. But I'm sure that we've all had that "oh crap" moment, yes? My personal solution was the most obvious....I chewed up 3 pieces of cinnamon gum until the flavor was gone, ordered more attys, and dripped juice into the center of the gum and made it DIY nico-gum. It worked very well, I might add....tasted like crap, but it worked as a temporary and relatively "safe" solution.

FWIW, Pit had the same reaction as this newbie, and his "highlight reel" summed it up nicely (politically avoiding the I have activated the "ignore all questions about this" in the "User Control Panel" :^) )

I'm sorry your brain has to consider such things about your postings, when, let's face it, some of the "veterans" of vaping do some of the most moronic things imaginable in plain sight, suggesting that others follow suit, in heavy traffic global communities.

Example: what MONKEY runs unprotected Li-Ion cells in series without a battery management IC? "It blew up!" Really? NO WAY! That's never happened to anyone, in any field, ever before!

And yet you kids felt the need to censor your own thread. Says a lot about the world we live in, and I'm sorry for it.
