| and that confuses you?
JK
you can search news for
bullitt county court case smoking
Their health department tried to make a law.
Health departments usually can only insure compliance to existing law.
It is about smoking in public places, but impacts vaping also.

| The media is trying to spin it that it was all from a grassroots attempt by local businesses to let their patrons decide, but I think that's just the Republican slant of the area. They want to think that's what happened.
[strike] Their website is http://www.bullittcountychoice.com/ and I guess they all got hammered or maybe their web editor died of acute smoke inhalation, because after the verdict the site still isn't updated...[/strike]
Rocket, you posted a JPG of the header of the document.
Here's the court ruling in PDF format (no ecf account needed: http://www.bullittcountychoice.com/s...uit_ruling.pdf edit: HEY WEBMASTER - why isn't strike-through enabled, either the HTML <strike></strike> or the vB BBcode? I'm pretty sure there's no security issue with strikethroughs, so here's a request to implement it next time you're playing around with the board settings.
They have some pretty twisted logic for their counter-arguments under the Bad Arguments section... "we're right, you're wrong!" isn't an effective debating tactic, but Kernturkey do grow the burley leaf.
Call me cynical but I'm sure it was more of a behind closed doors thing than a bunch of slightly organized bar owners.

| I got it was elected officials pissed that an appointed department was making the rules (laws), of course contrary to the political slant of the elected folks

| Along these lines there has always been one thing that worries me as a means to attempt to ban vaping in public places as well...allergies. We all know there after some that have them to a part of the main components and it makes me wonder if that could be used as a basis to gather support of a banning similar to a latex ban Ive seen at one of our local elementary schools?...Has anybody ever heard what happens to those that are allergic and how sensitive a reaction that could be compared to latex allergies?

| I do not know, however I don't think that's going to be an angle of attack against vaping, unless they've already failed at more mainstream objections.
I'm really worried about the "it's an electronic gadget, and every parent knows that electronic gadgets appeal to kids." angle. Nothing worse than a self-righteous parent screaming at their congressional representative: THINK OF THE CHILDREN! |
