Start at about post 102, it's a real long thread.
Take your filled up cartridge (with VG based juice) and look at it in the light.
Don't you see it absorbing moisture out of the air?
It is. It won't never get to 280C. Used to happen in my cigar humidor. Needed something to suck the water out of the air down here in Louisiana.
10 % water in the VG and the boiling point is even lower (about 284F/140C)
An even better mix (what I generally use) is 50/50 VG/PG. The water content being somewhat unknown, but there none the less. If the base I am mixing is VG, I cut it with PG and versus vissus

Maybe I'll boil a little to see what the boiling point is.
Add a little ethanol (5%) to drop the boiling point even more.
Yes some of the PG or VG distills out at the heating coil, but most (?) boils off harmlessly (I hope). I don't like vaping PG because the way it's made, and the same for synthetic VG.
I suggest that those in the know consider a cool mix of 40% PG, 40% VG, 15% water, 5% Ethanol (optional). Not including the Nicotine in the above percentages of course. Some of the above percentages would have to be reduced about 2.4% for 24mg/ml Nic juice, and a little more for flavor (need to know the base for the flavoring).
The 50/50 base seems, at least to me, to cause a lot less throat discomfort. Atomizers don't seem to get all "gunked up", and I seldom get the "burning plastic mop bucket makes me want to puke" taste.

one day grasshopper, you will realize the importance of becoming one with your atomizer.
