Ok my ecig came with 2 attys, both seem to be producing vapor. However with one of the attys, even though I am seeing vapor being produced if I inhale it the taste and feel is very harsh and nothing is exhaled. Does this sound like the definition of a bad atty? Why would it be producing vapor but if I inhale it nothing visible is exhaled? The other atty doesn't seem harsh and when I exhale I am seeing lots of vapor? Also both attys are being used with the same exact juice...?

Try adding a but more juice, or drip a drop or two directly on the wire mesh.

Gertie, these things are as individual as the people using them.
I hate to say they are experimental, but in a way they are. The "weird" atty may still have a little factory coating on it or a slightly higher resistance and one batt. may be .1volts lower when fully charged so it doesn't get as hot as the other.
Experiment a little and see if you can get them to act "normally".
To build a fire you need fuel, oxygen and an ignition source.
To vape you need juice that will vaporize, sufficient voltage to heat the atomiser and good electrical contacts to get those two together. Wipe the battery/atomiser contacts , its one of the things that never hurts and switch the batteries and see how that effects the situation. Good luck, you can do this. bikes

what model are you using? if its the 901 or 801 (and 8084 i think) do a search for atty resurection. Sorry for no link, but basicaly some attys have 3 mesh screens right under the threads that connect to the battery. These can get clogged up with juice if the screens are not aligned correctly. Only do this as a last resort because you can completely ruin your atty. instructions will be in that tread, just google: atty resurrection

Okay so after reading a little about resurrecting atty's I found one person who basically tried this without the burn off part because of the 401 not having a manual battery. So basically I removed the atty and ran it under hot water. Blew out the excess water and dried it. Then dripped some juice onto the atty after putting it back on the battery. Then just for the hell of it I took the cart I was gonna use and cleaned it out including the filler and refilled it with fresh juice. Let cig sit for a while with the fresh cart on to give the atty some time to make sure it is wet and, though I can't say it is 100% like my other atty it is definitely working and tasting better. Also, jsyk I have been doing the little primer drag before actually taking a hit to make sure my atty is getting hot as most people seem to think this helps with the auto batteries (but I have been doing that all along). Just thought I'd let everyone know in case someone has the same problem. I didn't soak it in alcohol or mouthwash or do anything very complicated. I will probably repeat the process tomorrow to see if that improves the atty's performance and taste more.

Great, everyone has a technique, and they are all better
Glad you feel that you are getting the hang of this because just feeling that way,
helps you get the hang of it. Make any sense?
Your comfort level with your equipment makes all the difference in the world be it with a 401, 510, 678, or whatever.

(don't keep a wet atty pointing down into the auto battery when not in use).

Rocket is watching you.

Definitely. I was loving using my 401 at first and then when I discovered the nasty atty I kinda got discouraged and just kept smoking but I am feeling better and better about using it.
