There are a number of people interested in various coops, so I'm starting this thread to determine if any are feasible....

1) 510 & Ego Battery Connector Isolators

Present quote is for 5000 pieces (2500 for the 510 & 2500 for the Ego) for $240 shipped. Works out to just under $0.05/ea, not including possible duty taxes.

These are the stiff rubber kind that will withstand high temperatures without melting or deforming.

There is a high defect ratio, however, on a bulk purchase....30%.

I'm still negotiating defect replacements with the manufacturer.

2) Dual 18650 Battery Enclosures

These are selling for about $8 - $10 each on eBay and Aliexpress, which IMO is robbery!!

Current wholesale quote for these enclosures varies greatly:

250 pieces for $350
Fed Ex freight is $230
Total = $580 + possible duty taxes.

Works out to $2.32 each, not including possible import taxes. Still quite expensive, but a lot less than eBay or other sources.

Price per unit drops considerably above a 1000 piece purchase, freight remains the same.

I'm working on locating another source....

UPDATE!!

I've located a much better offer:

1000 pieces for $0.30/ea (Assuming freight max at $250, each unit would be about $0.55 each!!) Plus any import taxes?

Negotiating freight costs right now and working on 360 degree photographs of the unit.

Stay tuned....

3) 0.36" 1S-6S Red LED Digital Voltmeter Display

http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/44...r_Checker.html

These are the smallest DM's available and are ideal for making portable mod DM attachments using the Hammond translucent and opaque style enclosures, as explained in my free component thread.

Current rock bottom quote is 100 units for $287 totall!!

That includes UPS express mail freight, Paypal fees and a 1 year warranty replacement or DOA guarantee.

This is the lowest quote I have for a small parcel of these units. Works out to $2.87/ea, not including possible duty taxes.

MV sells a similar DM for about $7 each and at least $3 freight...($10)

If you have interest in any of these coops, just reply with a (1,2,3) combination to show your interest category and how many units of each coop you'd be willing to purchase.

Now, I've never organized a coop myself, so bear with me. But it may be in everyone's best interest to have a trusted supplier in here handle the purchase and collect your funds as a type of escrow account...??

Any assistance would be appreciated....

Just FYI Shek..you can get those LED meters off ebay with shipping for about 4 bucks
just enter the search term "1s-6s LED Lipo Battery Voltage Checker Indicator Tester"
obviously if you needed a boat load your coop op makes a lot of sense

I agree those boxes at 8 bucks is crazy..

Yes, I'm aware of the listings on eBay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/140626564682...84.m1423.l2649

This is the lowest price that I'm aware of on eBay and is on my watch list.

I used it to negotiate a lower price with the above mentioned supplier...

FYI...there's no warranty when you purchase these from an eBay supplier. If its DOA, you basically eat it cuz it would cost you more to send it back than just eating the cost. And if it dies in less than a year, you're S.O.L.

The coop for these comes with a 1 year manufacturers warranty for defects or DOA. So this is partially why a supplier should handle such a purchase as they could handle returns & exchanges with minimal costs.

Thx for the input B. No question that this is the right place to have this sort of discussion.

What about regulators. I still have not seen anyone really nail down a favorite. I have 7-8 different types but, still have not built out a mod utilizing any. With so many to choose from...

A lot of ECF modders swear by the Murata OKR series and claim that they don't need capacitors.

But ya can't do a coop on those....Murata discontinued them.

You might be able to get a distributor to dump their inventory considering they're now an obsolete part, but that would require somebody with significant cashflow....

Ya know Tek, I've been trying to get a spreadsheet from Boge for several weeks and for some bizarre and unknown reason....they say they're gonna send one and NEVER do!!

I'm anxious to see just how inexpensive their cartomizers are in a bulk comparison to that of SmokTech, Joye, Kanger, etc...

I had a friend who gave them to me at above cost but at a price of about 43 c each, and i bought 200 that way, but sadly he is no longer around... But if you want i know that some suppliers can get them as low as 32c each if not down to 25 c, i know for a fact 32 but of course there is a min order.. And here is the thing, i like the boge, i love that rose got me hooked on em in december last year, and there the cleanest and most reliable and durable carto i have tryed, and when i did not know what brand there were i tryed 20 before i figured it out...

Berger, It seems to me that DCC's are a waste money and E-liquid...I am inclined to agree with you...but everybody has their preference and that's cool to.

Keep in mind Blue, you're in a Co-Op thread....

We don't pay retail, we get everything wholesale!!

A fraction of what you'd pay retail.
