CNN has just done a short piece on E-Cigarettes with Dr. Sanjay Gupta. The report was overall neutral (minus the title), talking about both the potential risks from being largely untested, and the positive aspects of not having harmful ingredients of traditional cigarettes. Check it out for yourself below.

Interesting things from the text version of the story:

Tobacco smoke causes nearly 90 percent of lung cancer deaths, according to the American Cancer Society. "If it is a choice between smoking tobacco product or a nicotine replacement -- of course, keep taking the nicotine," Schroeder said. "It is a heck of a lot healthier than tobacco smoking."

The idea that that e-cigs may be a good tobacco smoke alternative in the future could hold true, the FDA and WHO acknowledged, but proof of the product's safety must come first.

I am quoting selectively of course. Read the full story with some more details here: FDA hazy on e-cigarettes' safety.....

That is actually not a bad story at all. Dr. Gupta wouldn't take a hit off of it but he gave it to a smoker in the office, so he can't feel too bad about it.

I also ran across a great article about nicotine on science news. No mention of e cigs but great info about nicotine.
