I have been suffering headaches for YEARS! Even when I was a kid I would get debilitating headaches so bad all I could do was nothing at all. When I was 17 I started getting migraines. These got progressively worse, then all of a sudden let up in itensity and pain, and now are just a nuisance once in a while.

But there were days I would wake up in the morning and knew I was going to have a headache all day long. Sometimes they would go away by 5 PM, sometimes I would go to bed with it.

About a week ago I bought a pack of cigs at a job I was doing. What should have taken 45 minutes took 5.5 hours. It was at a 7-11 and I was so peeved I bought a pack of Camels. I smoked one there, and two on the way home (it was 1.5 hours home).

The next day was Friday. I smoked 5 Camels. Saturday I woke up with a headache. Saturday was also a frustrating day, so I smoked 5 Camels.

Sunday I woke up with a headache.

Then I realized...I hadn't woken up with a headache for MONTHS! Just about the time I started vaping...also, my nearly daily headaches are gone! Wow! I have been plagued by nearly daily headaches going back to the 80's. Now I only get one if even, once a week.

Time to get rid of the ciggies for good, I think. I have one in the morning with my coffee, and sometimes one after supper. This generally does not give me headaches. But any more than that and it's reach for the Motrin...or the Hydrocodone...

Congrats, Hachi, that's very good to hear. I still get THOSE looks while vaping but 2hrs of choke free breathing to start the day and not going to bed trying to get to sleep over the sound of my wheezing gurgling lungs was what convinced me to hang in there with E-cigs.
When I had my heart attack a couple of weeks ago (50yrs of burgers+ bacon) the admissions assessment said "clear lungs,no unusual breathing sounds". and that's aftera couple of months of vaping. Good stuff. bikes

Ahha!

Your body says to you, hey dude, I don't like this schlit and I'm gonna clamp down on your blood vessels real freakin tight and maybe you won't be able to do that to me anymore!

Did anybody smoke around you when you were a kid? Just curious. They say smoking causes just about every ailment a kid can have now, you know.

I can only imagine what you go thru with that! I hope you've nailed it and never have to deal with it again!

You had a heart attack a couple of weeks ago?!
Where's that thread at????

Too bad ecigs don't have plavix nic juice...the years of smoking (along w/other habits) make your vessels squeeze tight and all your gunk gets closer and closer together till one day it just can't viscose anymore and bam... It's just a shame we have to have or almost have a heart attack (my OM has 3 stents) to find out this is going on.
Otherwise, the most comprehensive test I could find is called a VAP test. I found a RediClinic around Houston, in the HEB that does them for around $50.

Getting old sucks, everything you thought you got away with catches up and they all gang up on you. That's what I get for getting old was kinda hoping to get the wiser with the older though.

I get migrains as well. I have not had one for a few months now. I have only quit for 9 days and been vaping, but I also take nerautin and I have not had one since. If they are bothering you that much time to let go of the analogs. I tried smoking a cig and almost lost my lunch because it tasted so bad. I am happy to be done with them. Good luck with quitting. It is a challenge everyday, but I am finding it is getting better as each day goes by.

Once again. For two days I smoked 5 ciggies each day and the next day woke up with headaches.
I guess I should be learning something here...

I used to get almost daily headaches. I have only had one headache in the four and half months I have been vaping. I like this much better!

If I smoke more than 3 cigs a day I wake up with my head pounding! I can actually feel a blood vessel in my head pounding! It's freakin' scary!

So yesterday I cut back to 2 cigs, and I had not really a headache but I could feel the pounding, went to bed and woke up with...no headache! No headache all day! I have had 2 cigs today.

Smoking is not only the right way to cure head ache problems. There are many treatments to cure head ache. The habit of smoking may look as an easier way to cure head ache but this is not right, if you smoke you will get other disorders. So avoid smoking and even if you are unable to stop, you can try electronic cigarettes since it will not give any health disorders.

Hachi,
does it make a difference if you spread them out during the day? Really tough being right there in the store, sort of like you can hear them calling I guess Dwells method of having an emergency autobattery small e-cig around might make a difference. Hang in there dude.

Better but I agree, FREAKY! I think I mentioned I don't get headaches so that just sounds super scary to me...you could FEEL the POUNDING? How bout if you just smoke 1 cig in a day, what happens then? Do you have to take that medicine every day too?

Thats great that you were able to find a remedy for you headaches...

I've been having headaches for a couple years as well...The doctor gave me a physical exam and informed me that I was a 'healthy, young man'... He had sent me to see an eye doctor specialist, but their diagnosis was that my vision was fine.
The doctor also had told me that a small percentage of people get headaches from some foods that they eat. He mentioned 'Pressed Meats' and 'Sharp Cheddar Cheese' can cause headaches for some people... I figured 'Pressed Meats' meant stuff like sandwich cold-cuts or SPAM or something...So, I stopped eating tacos with cheddar cheese and hotdogs... But, I Still kept getting headaches...

I have not gotten as many headaches as I used to before, but I do get them occasionally. I am guessing that the headaches are possibly due to my 'Grinding my teeth when I sleep at night'..... so, whenever I remember , or when possible , I try to stop grinding my teeth....

I had a mouthguard I received from my dentist.. but, that is lost somewhere under the bed...I should probably buy another one someplace....

headaches suck.

Um, not yet...
I had a bad Friday (saying "Registry of Motor Vehicles" should give you an idea) and then hurt my neck Saturday morning after breaking the Atty Smasher on Thursday. I have NOT been in a good mood and killed a pack of Wides and a few rollies to boot.

Funny thing, no headaches this time, but I noticed my sinuses were stuffing up!

If we get headaches it will be really irritating, we could not concentrate in any of our work. So it is best to consult a doctor or you can try with any of the suggestions.

Reviving this thread for a minute. I had a rough weekend, messing with my cars, getting the ones that will run for the winter ready and the one that won't ready to go in the garage. This means lots of time outside and greasy hands, etc, so I smoked a LOT of ciggies since Friday. Still, one pack I opened Thursday afternoon lasted me until about 4 o'clock today, where it would normally be gone in 24 hours.

I usually vape at my desk, but since I was 'away' I smoked more. Also, the cartomizer I was using on the eGo stopped making as much vapor, and I should have opened a new one, but...

So, we'll see how this 'relapse' holds. I have found smoking cigs make me feel worse than vaping.
