By changing out the spring this thing can take 4 CR123s wired series/parallel, two 18650 wired in parallel, or 3 18500 in series for 11 volt vaping.

And this is the LEFT HAND MODEL

Still working out details on the copper.
I'm be making a "few" of these also.
The "friction fit" needs a little fine tuning, sometimes easy to separate, sometimes not.

Put your sizing dowel inside for support and when you have everything positioned indent it with a punch should give you a detent that gives repeatable position and enough tension to keep the cap and bottom on. You might even get out the dremel or a ball mill, indent just the cap and gently grind a shallow bayonet groove like a auto signal bulbin the body for a push and twist.
You just couldn't resist the "never dull" could you sailor? or was it Simichrome? Looks purdy as usual. bikes
Sorry not reading close enough, Rocket. If.your having trouble
getting the bottom cap off a little candle wax shouldn't attract to much dirt and might be enough lube for that application.

Is that the "electrically conductive" candle wax?
I like the bayonet idea, dimple and ball mill slot.
Pretty easy to implement, good idea.
Just didn't want to smooth things out too much and make it loose, but the dimple sounds like the way to go.

You've probably figured out that a good portion of this thing is "double wall" just because of the fittings used. Got Weight?

Oh, and my HomeDepot bud doesn't work there. It was raining when I went there and I think he was just some homeless dude getting out of the weather.

I still think he is a commissioned employee.
I assumed you were going to rub down the fittings with one of your glitter candles for the maintenance of electrical continuity and lubricity. (Everything is multi-taskible. Some people use flashlights for those electronic cigarettes of all things; for example)
I seem to remember screwing with a buddies ignition with a #2 pencil (graphite traces on his spark plugs) so that might be a conductive lubricant? Whatcha think?

That sounds like a nice solution an 'L' shaped groove. The stuff is pretty damn hard though. So far the press fit is working fine for me.

What I wanted to do was use one on these (1/2" NPT).

Not quite enough 'meat' though with the type M (ID .811) copper I have. The type L is is a little thicker. I think the type K (ID .745) would be the answer, there is probably enough meat to cut some threads. I believe type K is what the Chuck actually uses. See attachment. Grainger has 2' lengths for about $13 + shipping (would be enough for 5 bodies).

As far as shiny this how mine ended up. I ended up steel wooling it and adding a coat of satin lacquer after I noticed my hand turned green,

I don't want to get too fancy, that would like be competing with the Chuck, just like making Cheap. I got a 5 foot length of the "M" pipe, and the couplings. So many combinations possible . The friction fit is working, but one of these days it is going to work to the 'too loose' point, then I'll try the groove. I have a bunch of Chinese ball mills for the dremel. Polish and wax, shiny, and I don't have the 'green hands problem'.

I'll go back and see if my buddy has some of the heavy wall stuff. Probably just the light and medium weight stuff.
Someplace in the shop I have a couple pieces of brass tubing that I can't find right now. Someone probably helped me clean up and put it in a box with old car parts and camera lenses. She does that, and I never learn.
Well cancel the brass, not right size.

The Double Barrel I made was a cheapo approach to the Shotgun Mod I saw. Not My Idea.
Well surfing around, I don't shop the Commercial Mods, I ran across the Double Barrel Silver Bullet at AltSmoke. Looks like he is out of stock at the moment but it was cheaper than the regular Silver Bullet. I'm sure it will "HIT" like heck, my cheapo sure did. Those of you shopping commercial Mods ought to check it out. Enough pressure and I'm sure he will stock more . Of course you could always make you own

And don't want to do double barrel duty all the time? Don't put two attys in it and it's a single atty silver bullet. Why is it cheaper?

Maybe it's all of those self igniting type 1 and 2s that got sent back.
edit: it isn't the 905 sorry misread Also noted that all you get for 75 bucks is the top: base batt and rest of the kit not included

Didn't notice that. Just saw the ad and the price, didn't read. It is a little prettier than mine. Guess I'll have to go to a triple now.

Didn't think anyone actually took that one seriously.

I've actually had to WORK the last couple weeks! Been bombarded. Had to take a break from playing with the mods and farting around with the cars.

It's been >55 Degrees here for three days now...time to play Chinese Checkers with the cars so I can get the Supra out!

Go ahead rub it in. We had 73deg the other day, winds gusting to 45mph. Came up the on ramp on the highway(motorcycle) and got blown up against the curb; almost rather have mosquitos than wind( ALMOST).

I'll trade you, it is just starting the "Summer" time here and it has been almost 100 degrees the last 2 days. in another month we will start seeing 110-120 on a regular basis. Was nice to miss all the snow storms, but now im thinking its easier to put on more layers than take them off.

I've received a couple questions on making the Free Butt Switch.
Later today, after the NAP, I'll do another one with all the latest revisions and post pictures.
Even If you don't like butt switched Mods, it's still about the easiest way to install a switch. I mean like it's already there in the first place.

I was trying to find the pics you posted where you showed the switch details of the top switched-direct connect-solder gobbed and epoxy stabilized 18650 flashlight mod. I would have sworn it was in this thread.

JJ,
it WAS.
I will repost them after I complete a couple of slight modifications to how I glue the switch in. Never want a part to fail but when it does it would be nice to be able to change it out. Too much of the "good" epoxy and it is almost impossible to remove.

Just have to find some more time. need more time.
