Rocket | I have to try to squeak the circuit in on the side of the main body. Even with a 14000 series, it's too tight. I'm going to have to go looking for a piece of threaded pipe...
Either that...or...know anything that will hold a 9V battery? http://pc-link.biz/catalog/images/GPFUN02-01.jpg

| Hachi, sched 40 pvc pipe and do the ground with aluminum duct tape on the body wall: light weight and very industrial , size to suit bikes
Rocket your right I've been following everything in the thread already had the button actuator de ratcheted but didn't bend the contact tabs (or hold my mouth) right I'll get back to it later. My biggest challenge is not having any sacrificial devices for connectors. I've only been vaping for 5-6 weeks and I haven't blown any thing up yet, Hachi could you send me a training video? |

| I think I found a really good 9V housing! Gonna cost me $20, though...
I'm working on a 9V housing (9V batteries are 12-1800 maH, but rechargeable ones are only 600) or a 3.7 to 5V mod using an 18650. I was going to use the Attilla to test longevity but it just wasn't safe enough to leave it lying around with a battery in it.
Time to check out the Salvation Army stores!

| Are you talking about the soft one? Do you like those?
I think they are kind of cool because they vape like crazy, they just don't last that long.

| Well, the Rocket has a few days off from the Rocket Factory and may get to play with the MODS a little (between Wii workout sessions).
If I can get the Swamp Lady to help, I may make a Video. The Rocket is gonna be a Rock Star!!!!. Yeah Right.
If I get all the parts and tools lined up I think I can make a Flashlight MOD, ready to vape in about 10 minutes. Not including putting some epoxy in important spots and curing overnight.
I practiced with the switch and got that part down to 1:30, easy to do in 2 minutes, clearing the LEDs , about 3 seconds
Cutting the 801 to 510 adapter to proper length takes about 2 minutes,
Drilling the "quarter sized" washer with a new 13/32 drill bit and reaming to fit the 810 to 510 adapter about 2 minutes.
Pressing the connector into the "washer, and washer into the Flashlight about 2 minutes.
That leaves close to 2 minutes for little odd and ends and adjustment and alignments, like cutting the insulating sleeve for the inside.
10 minutes, if you have everything lined up first. An hour if you don't
Then a little epoxy and all that is left is watching the epoxy dry.
If you remember to put the 18650 batteries on charge, you could be vaping a Big Fat Flashlight (BFF?) Mod the next morning.
Hollywood here I come.

Actually, I had a black used one that fit the 510 threads perfectly. The only drawback is the connector can't be 'sealed' because the hole provides a lot of the airflow. Careful soldering, actually just tacking the wire on prevents the hole from closing. Not a good thing to do with a battery, so I was using it on my 4.2V wired mods. Was approaching 2 weeks, when Curiosity killed it...
Wanted to see how it worked! Just can't leave things alone!

Draw thru a 401 cart, 510 cart, 901, 084, 801, 808D-1 is great, just pick the adapter you want and put a cart on. Big battery, hand full of adapters, lets see today is Friday, think I'll do a cartomizer today.

Hey, Hachi;
killed a 2 dollar cartomizer (D-1) on day 4,
I hope this isn't contagious, 50 cents a day for carts, 50 cents for juice, 2 cents to post this This one also started melting into the filler. Opened right at the solder connection at the center post. The post is part of the center connector and repeated movement could have fatigued the connection. I was careful when refilling not to move the wire but did not think about connector movement each time the cart was screwed onto the battery. This moves the center connector a little each time. If this is the failure mode for this one the big battery mod might improve cart life with fewer battery changes.
and for the DIY folks that want to make heaters, the element is a coil of 0.004" diameter wire. I might do a flame test to see if I can determine the alloy.
0.004" dia, ~38 gauge, 1.2" length, about 29 ohm/ft@68F
Resistance somewhere between 304 Stainless and NiCr60.

| Rocket man, advice solicitation: First tr.pk. all is prepped to press the atty in ,but what I want to use is 800 mah Nimh triplets in the stock batt. holder( I've got 2ea. 15min.cycle chargers and a dozen of these batts. sitting idle). Do I push George down to the same machined ridge as the pcb sat or is there a specific depth to seat my atty plate for this app.? My inclination is to subtract the thickness of the coin plus the depth of my pos. contact(solder bead) from the depth to the ridge and push the coin in that far, sound right? Thanks, bikes
