I use one of the larger screwdrivers I get in a set of "precision" screwdrivers (um, from the Dollar Store) and send it in at an angle. Pry gently until you here a SNAP, rotate the screwdriver one quarter, and pry again. You can get it out if you're patient. If you get it out in good shape, keep it! If you get some soft top ones, keep the soft tops when the cartos get gummed up beyond use.
Good to see you again, my friend!

I even trim the flange off the hard tops and use them for travel limiters in the "free switch'. Through nothing away.

Believe me, I need NO MORE encouragement! I had to figure out which pile had the motherboard screws for my latest Frankenstein project, then I had to figure out which pile had the screws for the fans, THEN I had to figure out which pile had the 510 battery connectors to replace in the home Atty Smasher. Organization is not a big thing...
I have two Ultra Small Form Factor Dells, 4 really huge form factor Dells, 2 AMD Athlon 1.8GHz machines, 2 3.2GHz INtel machines, and working on a 3.6 GHz (that's cloked to almost 4GHz. Did I ever tell you about the cars? Did I ever tell you about the pile of parts for my Hachiroku? Or the pile of parts for my Supra? Two basses, three bass amps....
OCD?! ME?! Nah!

The poster formerly known as Hachiroku. | Hey sir, I kinda fell off the wagon as it were. Came back after it got unbearable. I don't think I can keep up the tobacco anymore.
Rocket gave me the idea to boil them a bit and that worked fine to soften the glue for the binderclip arm to pull it out. Thanks though!

| The boiling water is an old
golf club making trick.
Dip the head in boiling water for a few seconds, grab it with a towel and twist the head off. 1500 PSI two part epoxy doesn't like high temperature.
Which brings up an off-topic note:
Let your clubs cool off if you had them in the trunk on a hot day

| I'm going to have to look into the ceramic ce2 cartomizers. I'm interested to see how they perform. Anyone used them have some thoughts on their performance and maintenance?

| Two threads to read: Ce2 cartomizer review CE2 cartomizers?
Even some pictures
I think they are another viable option to attys and filled cartos.
The two I took apart and put the "clear skin" on
are still going.

| I like the ones I've used. Hold tons of juice. I strip everything above the coil and ceramic cup and fill by dropper/dropper bottle. Then put the soft end plug back in,the little one holds about 20 drops of juice, say .8ml.
There are a couple of different resistance models and the lower res. works well with the genuine Joye batts that produce 3.3 volts nominally, the high res. works better with the 3.7 v and neither like the 5 an 6volt mods. Low res. cartos give a burnt taste and vaping to fast or hard can give you a dry atty and the burnt taste.
Like you had to do when you switched from smoking to vaping there are adjustments to be made but once made they are worth it, IMO.
Welcome back,D |

| Not to mention it! I didn't know about boiling them, either. Good idea, because the hard tops are easier to remove than the soft tops while driving.
Good to see you back. Stay with it. I too cannot totally get off tobacco, but do one after breakfast, one about 2PM and then another after supper, about 7-9PM. If I have one earlier than 7 I usually have another about 10PM. Four is better than 15; however, "The Cough" is coming back, so I think I'll cut it back more (I had 6 yeasterday, we played a Halloween gig, and I smoke more when I play...)

Welcome back,D | Just a side note add for me the 2.5 ohm CE's work well with my riva ego. (I think thats 3.7V) Really brings out the flavors more then the 3.0 ohm ones did. The 3.0 is fine for my everyday menthol vape.
