| Hi everone,
I just had one of my coveted 510 atty's die. I tried to save it, did all the tricks I knew or could think of, But to no avail, it passed on to the atty afterworld. It was one of those I had been using for almost 6 months. It tasted great and everything. That scared me so bad I got on the internet and ordered more..... Just in case it's an epidemic.
I did use it on both the regular 510 manual bats. & the Protege, so am not sure if a larger battery would make any difference. Could it be that Hachi is getting a voltage Spike that is short termed & not something that is detectable because it only happens when conditions are just right?
I am also one of those that has no idea about Fluval.... Or even what I might use it for if I ever did find this stuff that must be secret & highly prized.
Merry X-mass everyone!

| Tracy, you can wait till someone asks you to go Fluval hunting with them one night (yes, like snipes, they're only hunted at night) or you can click on the link I put in an earlier post on this thread. I've been using it as filler in my 510 carts and it wicks great and is easy to dress out... errrr, cut and use. My sympathies on the passing of your atty but it sounds like it lived a full life and it's time had come. It's the young ones like Hachi's that we really mourn.

| Hi Kaye,
So glad to know what Fluval is used for...
Was a little worried about that for a while! Now I know I won't go hunt Fluvals in the middle of the night, Or try to dress one out if someone claims to have bagged one. But, I probably would have if you hadn't explained it to me.
I can get my small mind off of that now and try to concentrate on Hachi's atty problem. I don't think I can be much help, but I sure don't like to see young atty's pass before their time, not to mention all the stress & uhnappy NONvaporing it causes all those concerned. I don't usually like packed cartridges, I'm just an ole dripper, but if I should want to stuff one with a Fluval... Where would I get one? Please don't say get a sack & a flashlight and I'll show ya tonight!
It's OK I found the bit about aquarium filters and Pet stores. So, now I got most of the info Xcept... What are tulles?? I have 2 Yorkies & a Longhaired Chihauhau (looks like a little red fox) so I spend a good amount of time in Pet Smart, and can likely find Fluvals... But, tulles?

I was planning to go for some of those "free range" fluvals talked about in here. I even got some 00-buck and slugs since I'm saving all my NATO stuff for other special purposes. |

| Trace, I'm pretty sure our friend Sweett4rt raises tulles in her garage but since she doesn't have a license, she rarely talks about them. Basically, they're similar to Fluvals, just a little more domesticated, but very very shy and practically extinct. They used to roam freely in the southern states; sometimes, in Civil War pictures (the War of Northern Agression for all you southern gentlemen), you can see them peeking out from under the big skirts of the southern belles. You can catch glimpses of them in the original Gone with the Wind movie.

| Well, I'll tell you one thing. If they jump out of the pan and get tangled up in the heating element in the oven:
"Burning Plastic Mop Bucket, Make You Want To Puke Taste"
Always baste them with a lot of juice. |

Vape about 2 cig's worth (approx) 20-30 hits
Repeat. Nice strong, flavorful vapor.
We won't talk about atty life yet...

| Might want to try the 801 atty. Big, and since it's an old fashioned model, cheap, very cheap.
The carts are big but the factory material won't wick fast. Holds a lot but you would nave to have 2 or 3 desk cigs standing around and rotate from one to the next. Dripping them works but again leaves fewer finger to type with.
The cartomizer, if it proves to have a reasonable life, is the cheapest atty.
Sacrificial is OK, if it lasts.
I guess 3 or 4 favorites is gonna be the best I can do.
Impressive display at work, frequently triggers the "soapbox initiative" .
Ya thnk I luv to talk here? Ha !

The Rocket | Same here, but I am a Factory Service Rep for Dell, and my car *IS* my office.
I bet some people here are going to start getting orders soon.
I was talking about the Atyy Smasher today and a college student in the other room let out a loud chuckle. Must be an Engineering major...

| Has anyone purchased and received an atty that smells and tastes funky... like chemical funky? I got one recently and it just tastes nasty. Also, it heats up WAY faster and WAY hotter than any other atty I've ever had. No bueno.

| The 510 attys that came with my first kit tasted chemical funky but I think from reading other posts that it was due to a "protective" coating on the heating element that either has to be burned off or cleaned off. Since then, I've had some 510 attys that don't have it and some that do and I'm not sure why it varies.

Puff and blow- don't inhale. The bad taste won't kill you if you inhale- it's probly just PG. So puff and blow a few, may 5 times, then hit it.

Now Cart Filling- Fluval is allmosty as bad as the original cart filler. The original cart filler is horrible, seriously I allmost crashed my car trying to deal with those little hairs drying out - being sucked to the atty and giving me that awfull taste.
Lypton Pyramid Teabags are the BEST CART FILLER MATERIAL. I have been using them for months and probly allways will.
If you don't know what it is look it up. The taste is so much better!!!!! |

| Thanks Robert...
At least I won't have to worry about the 'cruelty to animals people' knocking on my door if I destroy a few teabags. I'm gonna try that one of these days. The main reason I turned into an old dripper was cartridge stuffing... good taste with vapor you can't see through from my 510 is what I get by dripping. Another thing about tulles & Fluvals is that they hide Under a Southern Belle's dress. Sounds like they might be a little perverted! Ya better wear slacks when ya work with these little fellows Kaye. LOL |

| Hachi,
I still haven't figured out what your atty problem is...
But, I have my little brain going like a 'model A' Ford in the Indy 500, so it shouldn't be too long before I reach some kind of brilliant conclusion. lol Just hope I live long enough, am getting older by the minute.

I did get two that did not do they, and the first one died the fastest of any atty I've killed yet. A matter of just a few days.
Oh, yeah. The taste and smell 'burn off' after the first cart...

I haven't looked...has anybody told me what they taste like?
I went to another branch of a store where I had located Fluval products, and the girl there (cute, BTW...) told me they discontinued Fluval products. She grabbed another brand of filter material and said, this is the same. What kind of filter do you have...
Er, THIS and I whipped out my 510. I showed her my e-cig, too (Nyuck...nyuck...)
WHAT?!?!
Yeah. You put the filter material here, load it with juice, and puff!
And this is how the cig works... (What is WITH me tonight...? Did I mention she was CUTE?)
What is that filter material made of...
Polyester, I think...
Ooooops...thanks anyway...

I love this forum! | Hey! The Ford 999 won at least one 500...
Are you an engineer?A tech? An experimenter? I was an engineer's assistant, and I can't figure it out, esp in light of some people going months, unless I'm sucking the life out of them!

| Hatchi,
I am retired... but used to work as Construction Manager & engineer for PITCO inc. in Austin Tx. (Petroleum Inspection Technicians Co.) Company Closed.
Also worked for pipefitters local union here in Louisville Ky. I guess I am an experimenter etc. have done about everything, and almost everywhere. Saudi Arabia, South America, Algeria Africa, and several other places.
The Ford 999 might have won at least 1 Indy... but I don't think my 'model A mind' will ever finish the race. All the grand idea's are drying up fast, and I'm getting dizzy going around in circles. This is like a problem in Quantum Physics. I have an idea but can't reach the solution, it may be in another area of space & time... black hole... maybe your atty's are somehow drawing starburst energy and it's just too much. This has to be a team effort... maybe, we better call on a Fluval or tulle,... I'm lost! |
