| I do a 2-3 hour DIET coke soak so *no sugar* but plenty of phosphoric acid. The vinegar may work too since it is an active base. I would try white vinegar.
If you really want to go for it, try a muriatic acid soak (diluted hydrochloric acid) sold at pool supply stores, then again dilute it 10:1 and soak for about 2-3 minutes. If that doesn't clean your atty nothing will. The finish on the atty exterior will probably not survive, but that coil will be clean as a whistle.
Rinse thoroughly with clean water either way.
