K...I got a question for those that have already experienced it.

How do you know that your atomizer isn't any good anymore?

Today, I was getting a weird smell coming from mine, and it seemed like I wasn't getting that good vape I was before, so I cleaned it all out with hot water, blew it out, let it dry...all that jazz. Lubed it back up with new juice, let it set some more, added a little more juice, and then went to take a hit.

L.E.D./battery still works...I can even feel the atomizer getting warm as I am puffing on it....but...I got like "half a hit" and then nothing since then....no vape, nothing.

I'm gonna try a new atomizer when I get home in a bit....but other than that...any other suggestions or help?

When your atomizer full on dies, you will know. You could drag on it non stop super hard, battery light up, and zero heat, zero smoke. It just doesnt heat up anymore.

My 901 did the same after i boiled it. Keep refilling, dripping, puffing, it works itself back into motion eventually.

So far, Ive gone thru 4 peewee atomizers and 1 901. 2 PeeWees were due to over dripping and a faulty battery. So half my fault, and half not-atomizers-fault. 901 was connected to a jacked up usb passthrough as I was trying to fix it, so my fault there. Other 2, I guess I just dripped/used them too hard. I drip ALL day on the peewee, with the thicker Pure style juice. So I suppose I'm gunking them up hard. I just dont feel like going thru the hassle of returning them anymore, so waiting to buy more stuff i need/want, and will get some extras then.

If you add up all these expenses, for me, its still less than smoking long term. Right now Im well over my monthly analog cost, but once I slow down trying stuff and just have my normal stock of equip and juice that doesn't break, it will work itself out.

Coolness then.

I figured it was something other than being burned out cause I can take it off the battery, blow in it thru the opposite way, put it back on the battery, I can actually get a little vape from it, but then it stops again....if I repeat this procedure, it'll keep vaping....

I'll keep working on it.

You may have went through a cleaning cycle. This is a well known cause of atomizers losing performance (and sometimes dying on the spot). Happened to me before. The small wires inside can't take it.

I religiously avoid cleaning cycles now and instead manually wash them in very hot soapy water.

I just did what VapeAtron recommended, just kept adding drips (like 2 at most) and kept puffing...and what do you know?....its working

So, when you boil these or whatever do you put the whole atomizer and cylinder in there, or does the actual atomizer piece come out? I'm talking about the 901.

You put the whole cylinder in, nothing from that comes apart.

I just wrote a nice long reply, but for some reason it didn't post...

Anyway, the #1 cause of cold and dead atomizers in my experience is the twisting off of the wires that are behind the gold threading connectors. These are only attached to the outer tube with some adhesive (and some batches, this adhesive is weak.) This leads to rotation of the inner unit and breaks off the VERY thin wires that make contact.

I've repaired 2 of my atomizers by pulling the connector off, and reattaching those wires. It's not very easy, and to do it right you'll need a very fine tip soldering iron and a LOT of patience.

My atomizer still works okay, but it's getting harder and harder to pull a drag off of it and I am assuming that it's because it's gunked up from dripping.

That's what mine was doing....that's what prompted me to give it a good cleaning....been fine ever since.

I think I may start cleaning them once a week....cause I drip on a regular basis...no carts at all.

Mine seems to be working a little better since the cleaning as well. Kind of hard to tell though.

Try cleaning it out with HOT water and some vinegar. I used this method and it works awesome!!! :-)

Here's a thread that hasn't been touched in a year (2/4/09).
Notice that atty cleaning is still up near the top of everybody's list
of "how do you- - ?"
Things haven't changed much in a year have they?
vinegar, diet coke, still seem to be the most often used cleaning agents,
and sometimes even work. More "severe" cleaning methods don't seem to help.
and attys still fail us.

digging through the archives and
this is only one of 381 threads in the General Discussion area.

Took a poor performing TW Titan 510 Atty, soaked it overnight in Diet Coke, rinsed it for a minute with warm water, blew the water out, and, as Rocket would say:

ummmmm puff ummmm puff.

It's almost like new. Going through week 2 now. For me, that's a record...
