| Ive been using this thing non-stop. If you get a USB passthrough battery for your DSE901 - you can connect it to this thing and have a constant full on power source.
Takes the whole "is my battery low, and do I have enough juice to go out with it" factor out of the equation.
3 hour charge - 15 hours of usage. Basically a full day of vaping on this thing. Charge over night, repeat. I have 2, so Im good almost all the time.
Only thing is, it has a standby mode. So If you don't puff for a while, you have to hit the button on the front once to reconnect to the passthrough. Good I guess, but sucks if you forget and take a drag with no result.
Here it is on ebay: APC Mobile Power Pack for iPhone 3G, MP3 charge via USB - eBay (item 230322263180 end time Feb-04-09 04:23:09 PST) |

| This thing is great.
I'm a Snow Plow Driver & I would be lost without having this, for those long nights of snow plowing (18hrs+)
I think think every E-smoker should have one. |

| Ok just thought I would let everyone know that I found another device through another forum that my fiancee runs undisclosed* righttovape and it looks amazing.
Black & Decker CPI20B Pocket Power Cordless/Rechargeable Power Supply
The freakin output on this thing is a masterful 250mA
which is not even in comparision to the APC!
Supplies portable AC & USB power which the APC only does the usb.
I beat you that you would probably only need to charge it once a week.
I've googled it and found it as low as 19.43 shipped to me.
I think the downside to this is it's about an inch thicker.
Just another innovation to the e-cig community coming soon.

| Nice, Ive been checking Righttovape as well. Nice spot!
I will definitely look into that other unit. I have cellphones and computers, PSPs, etc that can all use this stuff too. |

. | I know virtually nothing about these things, but I thought I read that the power supply had to be at least 1000mAh for the USB passthrough to work? |

| sorry I meant 250mA here's the specs
Input - 12V, 300 mA
Output - 20 watts = 10 minutes; 16 watt = continuous
Battery - 1.2 AH NiMH
USB - 5V DC (250mA)
It only takes 1mA to power a e-cig or 1000mAh |

| The e-cig requires 900-1000 mA actually (or, 1 A).
At 250 mA, this Black & Decker device is only 1/4 powered and really wouldn't work.
The APC is currently the best way to go IMHO. It's nice and compact, plus easily lasts all day long even with demon level vaping.

| I have my first PS USB passthrough on it's way, and I'm planning on using it with a wall adapter (with usb) that has 1000ma, DC5.0v. So I should be in good shape... I hope? |

| Yep, that's exactly what you want as far as an AC adapter goes. You can buy 6ft USB extension cords too for pretty cheap. That'll give plenty of slack altogether - around 9-10 feet from the plug (which itself can be an extension cord).
Heck, you can even chain together several USB extension cords, so many possibilities. |

| I'm using a Kensington battery pack - small, sleek, works great. It can put out 1.5 amps, so no problem there. The charge lasts about a week the way I use it. |

It only takes 1mA to power a e-cig or 1000mAh | Your getting your conversions wrong. mA is milliAmps. mAh is milliamphours.
250mA is .25A Nothing to do with conversion to mAh.
The APC is 1.6A = 1600mA.
An Ecig for proper useage needs 1000. I have tried to use the passthrough on a different USB battery. It was enough to charge the batteries, but with passthrough it would just blink. |

| ah ha.
I have no clue, still new to the e-cig game so I apologize, but I did see that someone over on Right to vape was using it and wasn't having any problems at all. But who knows. Sorry to mess everyone up. I like my Apc when it worked and Can't wait to get mine back to me on monday. |

| Ive been using 2 APCs back and forth, with the Puresmoker USB passthru, and it has worked fine for me. When I had a new atomizer, and tried that for the first time, the power was significantly more than a regular battery after a half hour of usage.
I have a crap atomizer now so my 901 is weak, regardless of the power source. But when all things are equal, I was loving that combo. |

| I just received my APC pack yesterday, I see some advantages and drawbacks already. Some people .. in other forums complained that it burned out their atomizers. I can see that happening because I had to change the way I 'smoke' my dse901 and classic penstyle. The atomizer housing was getting very noticably WARMER by smoking like I was on battery only. Ya don't need a primer puff with the APC, yer atomizer gets blazing hot immediately. And you should allow a longer cool down between puffs using the APC power. Also, the flavor of your juice is noticably less with the hotter APC power. I like Johnson Creek Tennessee Cured. If I use the penstyle with usb passthrough & APC the flavor is much less than it was with battery power only. It seems that the 'hit' is stronger with a shorter puff on the APC, but less flavor. I haven't tried any other juice yet so maybe I'm just burning off the JC quicker and not getting the full flavor...but a stronger hit? |

| I really love the USB battery & APC battery pack too! I missed the first sale on the APC's at Fry's and bought one off ebay, and then when Fry's had them on sale again I bought 3 more to make sure I had spares! I charge one while I use one so I always have another one ready, and so now only use the other batteries when I'm out and about. After today I'm thinking of taking the USB battery when I go out too. I was driving down the road and took out my e-cig and took a puff. The battery heated up so hot that it burned my fingers.. and I threw it down on the car seat. I went to pick it up a few minutes later and it was SMOKING... and still hotter than heck! I had an empty metal mint container in the car and got so paranoid about it being so hot that I opened up the metal container and threw it in there... afraid it was going to set something on fire! I was about 10 minutes from home, and when I got home the metal box was still 'warm' and so was the battery.. but I guess it had burned out. I put it on a charger to see what happened and it was totally gone. I'd only had this one for about 20 days.. and had hardly used it.. since I almost always use my USB battery. I bought two 901 kits and each one had a bad battery in a short period of time.. so I think I'm just going to order a spare USB battery instead... so far have had much better luck with that one! |
