He was useing a portable power pack for USB pass thru.. The ones i have seen don't last long like the one this dude had.. He was going on 23 hours with 1 charge. And it had a nice belt case for it...

I use this one myself, have 2 of them. Last about a full day. Use with a USB passthru.

APC power pack, Cell Phones PDAs, Electronics items on eBay.com

USBs run at 5 volts, not 9 volts. Don't put 9 volts on an atty, it is too much and will burn it out. I have seen battery mods running as high as 6 volts using two 3 volt CR2 lithium Ion batteries in series and not damaging the atty. But that is as high as would dare to go.
