I have a mod in mind but it will not take an 18000 series battery.
I want to stay at the 3.7v level, but don't want to be constantly charging/changing batteries (510 e cig)

I found these

AW 14670 Protected Rechargeable Lithium Battery

14mm (AA diameter) 1100maH battery. Longer than a standard AA size battery, but it will fit for what i want to put it in. At $14 it's a bit expensive, but it has the output and the right size.

Make sure the charger you get/have will take that battery. The slides in my chargers are max out when I put an 18650 into them. That extra 2mm plus the protection PCB might make it a really tight squeeze.

I'm building my own holder and will make sure the battery connector fits the charger.

Either that or (slightly) modify the charger...

I haven't tried them myself but I'll post something that will bring in someone that knows about them.

Well as long as he's coming by:

Can you use Li-ion chargers with Li-poly batteries or does it have different charging rates?

I was looking for something that was the same diameter as a "AA" battery, and after doing some homework discovered that "AA" size is ~14mm. The first 2 digits in a Li Ion battery number is the diameter in MM, so a 14XXX is about the same size aas a "AA". AW was the only place that had them...at a premium.

That's cool! That's why I created the thread, so people could post when their atty went belly up and could tell us how long.

Try Google. The charge rate is given as x"C" where x is the number of the charge rate.
Try Battery University. It will tell you a lot about batteries, and probably scare the living daylights out of you when you get to the Li Ion section...
