My first attempt at using a 14670 battery (~1300maH) wasn't too swift, because the battery was really stuffed into the case. These were on sale at Thansgiving at Homer, MUCH better housing for the battery.

I did this same thing a little over a year ago (I think the thread was "Another Flashlight Mod") but the housing was WAY too tight! It was hard to get the battery in and out, and it put so much pressure on the switch it stopped working. This one had enough room so nothing's squeezed.

THe only problem is the batteries are something like $14 from Lighthound...

Well, that's what you get for buying batteries that nobody else uses!

These are a buck each. And they come with a FREE SWITCH!

They still had them today. This one was actually from a set of 6 lights for $9, I have some of the dollar ones. The part the switch is mounted in is from one of those.

Oh, and today I was eyeballing the 2 wattage Weller battery soldering iron. But, like you say, at $19...

PS: Nice avatar...

Totally understandable man! I'm currently hoping EPipeMods gets up and tries that Kirsten pipe design for a new (hopefully cheaper) model. It may not happen... ever, but I can still dream.

Yeah, they looked pretty cool. But cool costs, and I would expect a price of about $70...

I just want one that would take protected 14500 batteries. That'd rock. I'd only need to buy 1 kind of battery. /sigh That'd rock.

With the fluted bowl it certainly would. The part it attaches to could lead to the atomizer connection on the stem. I'd say 2/3 the way up the stem, cut it there so that the tank mod could sit upon it and look freaking amazing. It's doable, but I don't know shit about doing stuff like that, let alone the tools.

Me either, but I keep threatening to work on a flashlight mod. My wife is probably wondering:

A) Why I keep buying all of those cheap flashlights, and
B) Why they keep burning out so quickly. (Li-Ions will pop those little halogens before you get the switch pressed all the way, LOL).

Click-POP! Dang! What's wrong with these darn things?! Guess I need another flashlight...

Ya know, I fully charged the 14670, and this thing COOKS! I think it has more punch than an 18650. I put a 2 ohm cart on it and it cooks it so much it tastes a bit burnt. I put a 2.5 ohm CE2 on it and...niiiiiiiiiice!

Nice little mod, the black gives it a little mini light sabre look.
I almost picked up an 18650 flashlight that had a light sabre look to it, but it was $10, a bit over my spending limit for flashlights.

With a simple 6' USB cable, a 510 connection and a cheap $1 flashlight, a buddy of mine made me a nice little pass-through. I just need an outlet to USB adapter. I'm not burning out the buses on my PC for a PT.

What are the specs on the battery? I get that it's 14mm x 67mm, but what's the mAH and native voltage on a 14670?

Probably in some swamp, building a flashlight with a pull-start that can cut through cypress trees like a laser.

Or a handheld search light good to 10 miles and ignites grass within a hundred yards

Nice! Although some Li-ion batteries come in 3.0v and 3.6v.
