| Most e-cigarettes will come in something called a "Starter Kit". This usually contains 2 batteries, 1 atomizer, a battery charger, a cord to plug into the battery charger, a manual, and a pack of carts filled with nicotine in varying strengths so you can see which level is good for you.
Different models will come with different contents, some with more, some with less. Retailers may also add additional items into their "starter kits" to make themselves stand out.

| Well....duh. That happened to me yesterday. I ended up doing a search for the cig store number and the kid (really young pup) tried to tell me over the phone how to do this. I felt soooooo stupid!
I have smoked way too long and now I'm feeling the effects - especially emotionally. I'm in my early 50's. I'm raising a teenager alone - she doesn't want to grow up even though she has college paid for. My doctor even told me last week not to worry about quitting until I get her out of the nest.
Every time I have smoked in the past 10 years, I've hid. No one in my family smokes and everyone has a comment to make. So bad, I've quit going to family functions. At work, I hide in the recesses of the garage - it's such a pain in the rear. I'm so damn self-damaging. I have 23 years of sobriety in AA - even there, there's the smokers vs the non-smokers.
IMHO, one of the biggest causes of obesity these days is the reduction of use of nicotine. People eat and don't smoke anymore. I've had 300 lb+ people complain about my smoking - one acquaintance of mine can't breathe as well as I do, but complains about how I smell.
I seriously reduced my analog cig consumption today and just getting used to using the e-cig thingy. I think I may have bought a seriously flawed reproduction model because it doesn't have a "brand" - my guess, it's probably Chinese. I only have one battery and the plug-in is USB only.
Ok - HELP. I'm ready to take the plunge. I need to buy a good kit (please help me here) and take this seriously because I know it's going to work with the results I got today.
BTW, if I do get the liquid - can I put a few drops in the tip of the caps that came with the one I just bought???? Or am I going to need to buy a new starter kit to just use the liquid? This kit I got has the vaporizer that plugs into these plain metal caps. The cartridges have plastic plugs - when you pull out the plug, there's only liquid in there. Can I just buy some juice for the cartridges I now have???
I started smoking when I joined the Army - yep, back in the early 70s. They sent me straight to Germany and cartons were $1.75. The NCO's always told us "if you've got 'em, smoke 'em". Non-smokers usually didn't take those breaks.
Hope there's hope for me yet.... I'm tired of sanctimonious people!!!

| oh yeah - it's vaping. Just wanted to know if I can add the juice to what I have when I run out. It'll be a silly question, but I want to be vaping instead of smoking while I'm negotiating all the stuff out there/here/yonder. So many forums, too much info. |

Which do you have and where did you get it from?

Hmmm...a closet smoker, eh? I posted a thread here Some observations and notes with some run downs of the models I have had first hand experience with, and some recommendations for n00bs. We were all n00bs once, and I had a billion questions when I came here.
I prefer the 510, because I was a pack a day Camel smoker (or, a 'herd a day', as a friend of mine says...) and the 510 is a hard hitting ecig.
If more flavor and less vapor is your thing, a Joye 306 or one of the minis is better.
Feel free to ask, there are a lot of people here to help you! Just remember, everyone has a preference. I tried an 84mm mini, a 901 and a 510 before deciding. It cost about $120 to decide what was for me, and then the cost went down.

| Natashs , sorry you're having a rough time, we all want to help.
Some questions: Do you have a local source for the juice? What was your Analog(regular tobacco)cigarette preference? Reg or menthol, improvisation might get yo through while you determine your vaping needs.
If you can get your juice locally, I would drip or dip and not mess with the refilling cartridges... If you atomiser(heater part) is recessed in a tube drip only a couple of drops( 2 really) the bridge of the atomiser is the "krinkly" silver part and where you want to apply the drops. If the bridge sticks out(probably what you have) you can drip (carefully) a couple of drops on it or get a bottle cap and put enough juice in it so that you can dip the bridge in it , let it dripoff for a sec., put the mouth piece back on then vape.
Vaping is a lot different than smoking and you'll have to make some adjustments but if you'll hang in there we'll try to help. Good Luck, bikes |

Chicopee | I'm new here, and new to vaping (in fact, this is my first post!), but our circumstances are almost identical, so I thought I'd interrupt digging through the unbelievably helpful FAQs here to let you know about some stuff I've discovered. Maybe it'll be useful. Probably. Hopefully. (Can you tell I'm a married man?)
I'm also sick of being hassled about smoking, except I consider that anyone rude enough to get in my face about something I regard as a private matter, is just giving me permission to return the "favor."
I stick out my hand (the one with the cigarette in it) as if to introduce myself, and when they inevitably balk, I say; "wow, what a rude person you are!" and proceed to let them know my opinion of the way they dress, and smell, and any perceivable flaws I consider useful for getting my point across. (My favorite is; "you laugh really weird. It sounds like an animal getting strangled." Now, even if they don't, for the rest of their lives every time they laugh the image of a kitten or meerkat being throttled will leap to mind. Adequate revenge for someone inflicting their self-righteousness on me in a public place.)
As for vaping, my Pharmacist showed me his [e-cigarette], and said he was preparing to use it with Chantix to quit smoking. I thought no more about it until about a week later. I was standing at the counter in my local smoke shop, ready to pony up half a c-note to send yet another carton of paper tubes filled with crushed leaves skyward in the form of smoke, when the unbelievably firm, yet supple young lady behind the counter said something like; "have you seen one of these yet?" and proceeded to pull one out and puff away.
"Why, no!" I lied. Within moments, I was the somewhat baffled new owner of an electronic cigarette made by some company called "Envy." (I've since found only one scant mention of them on the internet, which makes sense since it's a total piece of crap.)
I called my pharmacist and asked him what kind he had, and he said it was a Blu e-cigarette, which was the third brand he'd bought in his search for the best. So I bought their starter kit, and let me tell you, the difference is absolutely astounding. I'm talking sheer quality and class. The pack itself is a marvel of ingenuity, with a charger built in, and little compartments for holding spare cartridges. It also came with a spare USB charger (though it's not clear from their site, in effect you're getting two e-cigarettes in the starter kit).
The very first puff was like the difference between night and day, as far as using it as a cigarette replacement. With the ironically-named "Envy," you suck away at it like the straw in a badly-made pineapple milk shake, and get little more than a brief flash of LED (to let you know at least something is happening) and exhale a slight haze that tastes like something from the wet end of a gym bag.
The Blu is a wonder in comparison. Exactly like smoking a cigarette. Smooth, easy, with plenty of "smoke." Like any guy with a new gadget, I'm in love, but I can easily foresee using it constantly. Just what I wanted.
The Blu comes with a sample pack of Johnson Creek cartridges, and I'm ordering their "welcome to e-smoking" kit to get all the supplies needed to "roll your own." Even though it's a considerable outlay, it's still less than a carton of anal-logs, and it'll be fun, like a chemistry set for (supposed) grown-ups. (Johnson Creek uses vegetable glycerin rather than propylene glycol, btw. I'm not sure of the distinction re: health hazards, but it's gotta be better than being a human chimney, I figger.)
I hope that helps somewhat. I still have a lot to learn, so I'll probably keep reading for quite awhile before I pipe up again.
Btw, is "Chicopee" a reference to the movie "Nell?"

| Got the post - well on my way vaping. I'm blown away by the awesome support I'm receiving on 2 forums. Found Doctor Vapor last night on youtube and went thru all 4 of his intro vids. Following orthChris, grimmgreen, and other fantastic pioneers on my Roku box. I have a 510 kit (sorry, not interested in blu) and ordered a pig-cig....plus, all the extras. I've been vaping butter pecan VG juice and it's heaven :-) Still.....I have enough supplies for the month and I'm way ahead on my budget without the analogs. I'm even looking at possibly buying a mod to just use at home since I threw away the analogs almost a week ago. Mixing juice is my next step. This is a life saver - no doubt.
BTW, I never ever met anyone with a cig, I became a closet smoker, never wanted to offend anyone - I was the one always in hiding behind bldgs. I had begun to hate smokers - even myself; isn't that a paradox? I don't think I'm alone in that thought. When people found out I was then a smoker, I would get, "can't imagine anyone with your education still smoking., ad naseum...". If I could have quit smoking another way, I would have done it along with quitting many times. Life is progress, not perfection.
No, Chicopee is just Chicopee - not in Mass.
Best wishes & Happy Holidays, Chic |

But when you add the e liquid, you maybe need to notice that the e liquid can't be added into the battery, if that, the battery will be bad. Some of my friends made this fault before.
